Yes we had a lovely stay, as weather was sunny and dry but cold. Therefore the comment about the heating times.
It really was wonderful and excellent value for money
A very enjoyable stay. Mobile signal very poor for BT & O2 Networks
A very nice cottage and lovely grounds. Very well equipped, even down to the USB sockets to charge your devices. Heating a bit noisy. Sounds like air in the pipes. Easily fixed I would think.
We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you ever so much! It was wonderful.
Yes, the building and garden are beautiful.
We enjoyed ourselves very much, nothing to complain about.
The pictures were very deceiving in your book.
We enjoyed the cottage. Great to have a gas stove for once. Heating was much appreciated, but incredibly noisy.
Despite the above, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was restful, quiet and very relaxing which is what we both wanted. We got used to the very narrow lanes after the first few days. It was very good having a on site caretaker and he was very good and helpful. I'll be honest I'd never heard of your company before but I shall certainly use you again, so many thanks for a very restful holiday.
Yes we did enjoy our stay. The property was smaller than expected but it was comfortable enough. Simon, the caretaker, was able to help when we had problems with our hot water, which was a huge relief!
We loved our stay at Apple Cottage, Buckland Court, Slapton.Accommodation was lovely and homely as well as very clean. Surroundings beautiful, and caretaker Simon was friendly, welcoming and informative! We look forward to coming back again!
We loved our stay at Apple Cottage. We were very pleased with the overall location apart from we had forgotten the narrow lanes and high and sprawling hedges but that you can't do anything about as it is Devon! The cottage was lovely, very quiet in delightful grounds. I particularly appreciated the full cupboard of utensils, pots and pans and the bags / cling film / dishcloths / washing up liquid etc that we had not found in other properties with other companies. Cleanliness was good, I have no complaints apart from the spiders but that is county life again! The beds were comfy, we were warm and cosy. My only negative observation was although the sofas were covered nicely on top, there were grubby covers underneath. Perhaps a darker colour would help as I understand the wear and tear and punishment they must get. On the whole we loved it. Thankyou.
Thank you for your feedback, this will be passed to the owners and caretakers to look at the sofas. We appreciate your understanding of the countryside and hope to see you again soon. Many thanks, The Toad Hall Team.

Stayed here for a wonderful few days over Easter and have to say that it is a small but lovely place to stay. The bedrooms are comfy as is the downstairs, and although the living accommodation downstairs is dinky, it is well equipped. The cottage is set in beautiful grounds, and my son thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the ducks, chickens and geese. As seems the norm, Simon (caretaker) was helpful, and very welcoming.
Lovely little barn conversion, in beautiful grounds. Our son loved the flocks of ducks and chickens running around the place. Simon the care taker was brilliant, very knowledgable and helpful. The cottage is compact, but has every thing you could need. The welcome pack of snacks and drinks was much appreciated and a lovely touch. Slapton was a great base for our adventures, we travelled all over Devon and Cornwall, but loved coming back to the cottage to relax each evening. Lots of outside space and seating to use in the evenings, as well as a barbecue and small play area with swings. We have already booked our next Toadhall cottage holiday, hopefully the next place we stay will be as good as this.
Thank you so much for making our holiday in South Devon one to remember! We all had such a great time, special thanks to Simon the Caretaker, a very helpful chap and a pleasure to chat to! We will definitely recommend booking a holiday with Toad Hall Cottages to our family and friends, the level of service was faultless and the accomdation exceeded our expectations! Thank you for a fantastic holiday!
Simon the caretaker made our holiday. He went over and above what I would say was his duty. His knowledge of the area and his passion for the surroundings in which he worked was A1 please pass on our gratitude to the cottage owner. We will return.
Perfect holiday in a perfect cottage. The caretaker on site was brilliant.
This cottage has a very small one room ground floor which has everything crammed into it and a larger upstairs as it spans an alleyway adjacent. The upstairs is roomy with three rooms. Decor is dated but everything works and is OK. Downstairs is large enough for two adults. Any more than this and you will be falling over yoursleves or the furniture when moving about. The actual complex is amazing, with absolutely everything you could dream of. Animals, lots of children to play with if you are a small person and lots of space outside to run about. Its a great complex. The manager is also really helpful and will do anything to help make your stay enjoyable. We stayed in the summer 2013 but cant remember the exact date.
