The location was exactly what we were looking for and the cottage was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed are stay, the comments given are only done so for constructive critism.

We thought Appletree Cottage was a really nice, well equipped cottage. (We thought a grab handle would be useful as you get out of the shower). It is in a perfect location just on the edge of Brockenhurst. It's a short walk to town and very easy access to the forest and the heath. The station is a 15 minute walk. Donkeys regularly walk past and there are lots of ponies and cattle on the heath. There is so much to do in the New Forest. We like walking and there are a lot of car parks along the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive plus many more across the wider areas of the forest. A cycle track map is useful as these are good for walking too. Wild deer can often be seen. One place we always love to visit is Furzey Gardens in Minstead. It's a pretty woodland garden (lots of rhododendrons, azaleas and primulas in May) with cafe, shop, picnic area, old thatched cottage and winding paths leading to many fairy doors to find. A restful and magical place. We hope to visit the New Forest again next year.

August 2017
We had a super time. There are so many lovely things to do in the vicinity (and we were lucky with the weather). A minus point: the specification details do mention the steep staircase - but as this begins immediately outside the bedroom doors, it could be dangerous for small children. A stairgate is supplied, but the stairs could be a real problem for someone with small children - or elderly people with mobility problems. On the other hand, the enclosed front and back gardens are a real plus. And the location of the cottage is superb - ten minutes' walk from the village centre and less to the heath. And a 15 minute walk to the station from where trains go every half hour to Lymington.

The cottage was lovely in a perfect location. we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday
June 2017
We had a great stay in well equipped cottage. Although décor somewhat dated, this suited us well especially with young children. We prefer to avoid gleaming white places! It was clean, comfy and homely. Kitchen well equipped. Shame the fires not working for Autumnn/winter stays. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
December 2014

Lovely to stay in such a well equipped cottage!
December 2014
Our third time in the New Forest and second in this lovely cottage. We had a great time but the dog had the biggest pleasure. Lots of walks, rides, drinking and eating with only one day of rain. We will be back!
November 2014
