Ashridge Farm Barn, set in an idyllic rural location upon a 200 acre working organic farm approximately 12 miles north west of Exeter, is a beautifully converted single level property perfect for those seeking a relaxing location whilst offering a central base for touring both North and South Devon. Offering spectacular views over a pocket of Devon’s most stunning countryside towards Dartmoor it will be difficult for both families and couples to leave the large garden and patio.  Whilst the layout of the barn is slightly unusual with all the bedrooms and large open plan living room being entered off a long open but covered veranda spanning the length of the building, the accommodation has been sympathetically furnished and is light, bright and spacious with all the bedrooms boasting en suite facilities and lovely oak floors.  The owners have conscientiously focused on the barn’s eco green credentials and it was converted using natural materials such as sheep’s wool insulation and the underfloor heating and hot water are provided by an award winning wood pellet burning system.  

Ashridge Farm is surrounded by rolling Devon countryside, ancient woods and quiet country lanes where sounds of nature and the birds or perhaps a tractor working in the fields or an occasional car are the only sounds to enjoy.  The farm and local area offer wonderful walks along marked trails and well signed local footpaths to several good local village pubs.  For those who can tear themselves away from the peace and quiet, the farm is centrally located with Dartmoor and Exmoor being popular for walking, riding and cycling.  Beach lovers will enjoy Westward Ho!, Woolacombe and Saunton on the north coast or Sidmouth, Exmouth and Dawlish on the south coast, all offering long stretches of sand and ideal for surfing or bathing. The nearby town of Crediton is lively and has a good range of shops and an indoor pool. The cathedral city of Exeter is a just a short drive and has an abundance of attractions, boutiques and places of interest.

A guest freezer is located in the owner’s garage and a laundry service can be provided with arrangement.

Large private grassed lawn to the front and side of the barn which is divided from the owner’s garden by mature shrubs.  A garden table, chairs and barbecue are provided – perfect for al fresco dining whilst enjoying the views towards Dartmoor!
