Situated in the heart of this beautiful South Devon village, Bantham House has one of the most enviable locations in the village with the glorious sandy beaches and the Avon estuary just a short walk away and dual aspect views over the estuary and Burgh Island. A superbly positioned period property, parts of which date back to the 18th century, Bantham House is spacious with elegant reception rooms, wide oak floorboards and tasteful furnishings throughout. Offering a fabulous holiday home for families and small groups or couples this stunning property provides every conceivable comfort in a much sought after location. Popular outdoor activities in the area include surfing, golf, sailing, kayaking and rock pooling, all of which are virtually on the doorstep.

Steps up to a large central hallway. Spacious, fully equipped kitchen/dining room with central island, American style Fridge freezer, separate drinks fridge, dishwasher, built in electric cooker, microwave, two ring induction hob plus four door electric Aga. (available on request, additional £40 per week charge - this must be booked in advance or an additional £25 call-out charge will apply for the caretaker to visit and turn it on) There is a large dining table and seating for ten. Lounge with open stone fireplace, large sofas, flat screen TV with Sky Plus, DVD and video, iPod dock and writing bureau. Bi-folding windows peel back to lead onto the southfacing Mediterranean style patio. Off the hallway is a separate downstairs cloakroomUtility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Family bathroom with bath and shower over, WC and large butler’s sink. Door to rear patio entrance and outside shower. A wooden staircase leads from the entrance hall to the first floor. Elegant master bedroom with impressive dual aspect windows and views towards Bantham Beach and Burgh Island, 5ft king size bed, wardrobe, drawers, dressing table, sofa from which to enjoy the stunning views, roll top bath with folding screen and a separate ensuite WC with hand basin. Second double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed, chest of drawers, hooks for hanging and pedestal basin. From the landing, there is access to a castellated balcony with rural views. Bunk room with two sets of 3ft single bunks suitable for children only, drawers and large cupboard, with coastal views towards Burgh Island. A staircase leads from the first floor to the third double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed, en suite wet room with shower, basin and WC.  Please note: This property has a 5pm arrival time.

There is a charming patio to the front of the property with elegant glass dining table, built in bench seating plus chairs and barbecue. The patio sweeps to the side of the property where it is equipped with an outside shower and hose, ideal for washing off sand and wetsuits after a day at the beach.

Off street parking for one vehicle in private designated space. Further parking is available in the nearby Bantham beach car park on a daily or weekly tariff.

  • Included: Bed linen, bath towels, WiFi, travel cot, high chair, stairgate, initial supply of logs in the winter (end Sept - end May), electricity and central heating (oil). Additional charge of £40 per week if electric Aga required.

The house lived up to expectations giving everyone their own space and having an ideal situation close to the sea as well as being exceedingly comfortable and well equipped....home from home and we hope to return. The caretakers were exceptionally helpful as well as leaving the house in pristine condition for our arrival.

Wonderful holiday home in a superb location, we really could not have asked for more.Beautiful beach,stunning coastal and estuary walks, great places to eat everything so close at hand we didn't use the car at all! We really enjoyed our stay at Bantham House. Exceptional, quality property, beautifully presented and really well equipped. The location is great for superb walks with stunning sea views. Fabulous beach and a wonderful outlook to Burgh Island and along the Avon Estuary. A truly relaxing holiday with the bonus of having the perfect pub next door! (The Sloop Inn - highly recommended). We loved every minute and didn't want to leave! Even our dog seems to have the holiday blues now we are home! We would definitely want yo stay again.
