Right in the heart of the pretty coastal village of Slapton and close to the beaches, Barn Cottageis perfect for family holidays or smaller parties wanting plenty of space. There’s a welcoming ambience to this traditionally furnished cottage where it’s easy to quickly relax and enjoy your holiday. There’s plenty of living space, so all the family will be able to find somewhere to unwind, including a cosy sitting room with woodburner, impressive dining room, large modern kitchen, a sunroom overlooking the sunny garden and four good size bedrooms.
The area is a haven for wildlife and indeed Barn Cottage is home to a roost of lesser horseshoe bats, a protected species. You may be lucky enough to see them emerge from the eaves at dusk from April to October, but rest assured, they are good neighbours!
Slapton is a perfect location for exploring this gorgeous part of the South Hams, with the south west coastal path nearby for those who love walking with the dog and Slapton Ley nature reserve for ornithologists. The village has a couple of good pubs and a village shop and driving to local attractions and the nearby towns of Dartmouth and Kingsbridge is easy. We love this cottage although it’s homely rather than pristine with the edges knocked off in places, but that doesn’t detract from its appeal and we can’t think of a place better suited to enjoy a relaxed holiday with friends and family.
Please Note that Barn Cottage will only sleep 8 guests including infants and is unsuitable for those with walking disabilities.

We loved our stay in the Barn Cottage - which comfortably accommodated our family of 8 and our dogs! A very beautiful house in a beautiful village!
That said it really was a fabulous cottage with the most beautiful garden. We wanted to book again for next September but there is no discount for 2 persons and £1044 for the 2 of us is very expensive.
A great property for a family holiday - lots of room to chill out and the lovely garden was enclosed so the children and dogs were able to play outside. In the evening we enjoyed being able to walk to the beach or spending time sitting in the garden watching the bats emerge. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The pub down the road served great food.
Brilliant stay. Enjoyed the cottage and location.
Slapton village is without doubt a magnificent location. The safe enclosed garden of Barn Cottage with easy access from the conservatory was a massive plus point.
3rd time staying at barn cottage and it's a lovely property and location. Would definitely rent again despite the above mentioned little issues !!
Fantastic holiday at a gorgeous cottage. Had a lovely relaxing time, fully recommended. Will definitely book again.
The cottage was easy to find on the website and showed all aspects of the property. The 3d Views on the web ssite were especially helpful for planning rooms before arrival with a large party. The kitchen was excellently laid out and equipped for us, who all took part in cooking.
