Our second visit to Beachcomber, we all love it.
Very enjoyable time
Yes we did and will be going back next year
We did enjoy our stay but felt a tad frustrated that the washer dryer was u/s ?
We had a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday and in a perfect position. Can't stop talking about it.
Absolutely loved our stay, though would not want to use the venue in the height of the season because of potential noise from the pub. It was quite loud until quite late on Saturday evening. I realise there is nothing that can be done about that.
Awesome location, fantastic views, good parking facilities.
We had a fantastic joint birthday celebration with our family in our favourite place. Hope Cove is amazing at any time of year.Beachcomber Cottage has a prime location within the village.
Beautiful, spacious modernised cottage in a stunning location overlooking Outer Hope beach. Even though we had gales all week we could watch the wild sea through the large windows while keeping snug and warm. Great position for watching sunsets weather permitting, and a few steps away from the two village pub/restaurants. Very well equipped with wifi and modern TV's in each room. Only negative is the scale of the kitchen equipment for six people - we took our own large wok, large saucepan and pizza oven trays after reading a previous review and were glad we did.
Yes, we enjoyed our stay. Everyone at the 'Hope and Anchor' were very helpful.
The pub staff made us very welcome on arrival, and check in was easy. The cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped. We loved the location. The beds were very comfy. The cottage was nice and clean on arrival.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beachcomber Cottage over Easter. We loved everything about the cottage - All 3 bedrooms were very spacious with large beds and lots of cupboard space, all rooms nicely furnished, the kitchen had a large dining table next to the patio doors which overlooked the beach. Beach is only metres away. Fantastic location. Would definitely holiday there again. I agree with previous reviews - it needs larger saucepans when catering for 8!
Whilst the overall feel and standard of the cottage was very high there were a few 'live-in' niggles that if fixed would have made all ratings excellent. These are only small things but together were at times frustrating... 1. The master bedroom had no window that could be open at night or during the day to let in fresh air (and to hear the sea) without having the doors wide open! 2. The automatic lights and extractor fans in the bathrooms bugged all of us as they stay on too long and wake up partners when taking a visit in the night. A normal light switch is much more homely and practical. 3. The fridge and freezer doors cant be opened when the dishwasher is open. They often bang each other. 4. There are no casserole pots in the kitchen equipment. There is also no instruction for using the oven. 5. The smart tv Wi-Fi connection was sporadic at best. All this said the location is amazing and the staff at the pub next door were always very helpful and friendly. We would recommend the cottage to others.
We are pleased to see you had such a good time and would recommend this great property to others. We have passed on your feedback to the very helpful property owner for their consideration.

A beautiful cottage, very stylishly furnished in a stunning location
This cottage is a lovely one and we had a happy week here and toad hall cottages were very good, the 3 bedrooms are all a good size with big comfy beds and smart TV's in each room. The downstairs layout is a bit dark in the living area, away from the large bi fold doors in the kitchen and the lighting could be improved just by a different, lower, or dimmer wattage? I am unsure if there are enough pots and pans for a big group so could do with enhancing. This is our 7th Year self catering in Devon and Cornwall and only the 1st time no welcome pack? Which was disappointing, as there was, no milk, no bread, no butter? Yes there were coffee, tea and biscuits like in a b&b and there is a shop and two pubs right next door but the shop closes at 1pm off season so when we arrived nothing to have a drink of tea etc, this property isn't cheap and it is the little things that make the difference. Also there was no radio? No idea where to put the rubbish on leaving. It is a lovely house with great views from main and second bedroom and kitchen. Great location, although can imagine it will be very busy all around the house in the summer.
We are delighted you had such a good time at the property and thank you for the useful feedback. We will liaise with the owner of the property to ensure all the points raised are addressed.

Stayed Feb 3rd -> 10th. Fantastic location and really tidy. Low mark for equipment relates to the small pans and frying pans. It was a real chore cooking for 8 with these small utensils. A big pan and big frying pan would make a huge difference. The wall behind the sofa bed is also very prone to mould. On arrival one section (by the window) was very "furry". We cleaned it but it was back within a day or so. Would be helpful to know where to put the rubbish too. The folks in the pub said they would sort it for us on two occasions but never did so we had bin bags outside the door for most of the week. Overall, still an awesome break. Thank you for being OK with 3 dogs :-)
We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at the property and have passed on your comments to the owners who will rectify the points mentioned.
