Description

Cart House Barn is set in the prestigious Church Farm development in the heart of Thurlestone, a stone’s throw from the village store, the Village Inn, and a fifteen minute walk from the sandy stretches of Thurlestone Sands and the South West coastal path around this fabulous shoreline. Attached on one side, the cottage is set in a private square of fine converted farm buildings that are tucked below the village church. Cart House Barn is bright and smart, features unusual stained glass windows, is comfortably furnished with exposed ceiling beams and laminate flooring throughout, and is tucked in an ideal spot.

Please Note: Carthouse Barn is quite compact, so requirements for more than one travel cot will restrict available bedroom space.

Front door into hallway. Attractive living room with a rug, sofa, 3 armchairs, dining table to seat 4, and flat screen TV with DVD player, stereo radio/CD player, books and games. Tiled galleykitchen, well fitted ‘shaker’ style units and equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, large fridge/freezer. Double bedroom with 5ft bed, TV and en-suitebathroom with bath, hand held shower attachment, basin and WC. Twin bedroom with 3ft beds. Shower room with electric shower, basin and WC. All the beds have attractive cane bedsteads.

Small area of walled, brick and gravelled courtyard including decking area for garden furniture. There is a barbecue, a herb tub and a bench overlooking the courtyard.

On hard standing immediately outside the cottage and further parking in the courtyard.

Included: Bed linen (no towels),  Wifi, telephone, (incoming and standard UK calls) electricity and central heating (gas).
Pets: Welcome.  Pet Charge: £25.00 per pet per week (£30.00 from Jan 2019).
Telephone: Incoming and standard UK calls only.  Mobile reception mixed
Local Facilities: Beach at Thurlestone Sands three quarters of a mile. Village shop, pub and Thurlestone Hotel a minute’s walk. Golf club (handicap required) and tennis courts half a mile.

Lovely and clean, milk and wine on arrival. Not phone signal but wifi enable use of Whatsap to keep in touch with home and Internet for business. Perfect for a week of peace and quiet.

August 2018

Cart House Barn suited us perfectly. As the family were staying in Sunny Bank we were just a short walk away. Thanks.

July 2018

Absolutely. Beautiful cottage, lovely setting. Couldn’t ask for more. It won’t let me move the bar across on the property scale but it was a 5 for everything. Will come back next year

We have now stayed there 4 times! I think this alone says we are happy. We like being so close to the cliff walks, the Post Office and the Village Inn.

Yes!

May 2017

Just a few dog hairs on living room carpet, but otherwise very clean indeed, especially the cooker, oven, the shower and bathroom (with no sign of mould whatever, which is unusual in rented properties). As regards equipment, there was nothing more that anyone could want! We enjoyed our stay enormously and would love to come again. Brenda Jones, the caretaker obviously takes great pride in her work!

September 2014

Carthouse Barn is a delightful dog friendly cottage which is maintained to a high standard and is exeptionally clean.

May 2013

we have used THC for several years, staying in two cottages in Thurlestone - a favourite place with all the facilities we need eg. great walks/beaches, excellent dog friendly local pubs and the Thurlestone hotel for the occasional pre-dinner G & T on the terrace overlooking Thurlestone Rock and the sunset - always great weather here!
