Thick walls, beamed ceilings, a country style garden and a superb granite fireplace inset with a wood burning stove to snuggle up in front of are just a few of its delights. This idyllic retreat will appeal to both families of three as well as couples.

Enjoyed our stay and fortunately had been prepared for the parking problems so managed ok . The stairs in the property are very steep and more should be made of this. We did enjoy the cottage and a good location but dint realise the location was quite so rural with no village shop etc within walking distance .
One of the best cottages we have rented in Devon. Maybe the bed could have been bigger, but getting it up the stairs would be tricky.
Perfectly good cottage in a quiet location but also near everything you would need and central for visiting a multitude of places. We would without doubt book again.
Superb cottage! Comfortable and relaxing stay. Quiet area and ideal for exploring the moors! Had a great week that went too quickly. Would definitely recommend! Milk and cake were a great touch - thank you!
Totally unique cottage and ideal for an "escapism" getaway
Beautiful cottage with such character. Loved all the extra touches. Our two dogs loved the area which is perfect for walking. Loved staying for 3 nights and could have stayed longer. We will be back.
Beautiful cottage, a real home from home. Nice touches such as washing up liquid, soap etc really make a difference. Parking is a challenge in a Landrover but doable. Stairs initially scary but are easy if you take it slow.
Lovely spacious cottage. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen / diner. Stairs and parking not an issue for us. Great wet room - we wanted to take the shower home with us!! Would stay here again.
The house is great and full of charm. We would recommend Ullacombe Farm Shop for supplies and good food. The stairs are fun but all part of the charm. Dogs had a great time. We all enjoyed it and will be back.
Beautiful cottage with lovely touches - cakes, flowers and milk in the fridge. Garden very relaxing to sit in. Would recommend Teignmouth as very dog friendly. Very mixed weather; glad we brought our raincoats and sun cream!
We will certainly explore using Toad Hall cottages again as very impressed with the service and value for money. Many thanks, we had a fabulous week.
Compass Cottage is beautifully renovated in keeping with it's character, and well equipped with all mod cons. It is in a good location for moorland walks, excellent local pubs and sandy beaches. It is best suited to fairly agile adults/older child due to steep and narrow stairs and outside steps. A small car would be best as the parking by the garage is awkward for turning round and we were unable to park out the front after day 1.
