Coppers, a former police station situated within walking distance to the town centre is perfect for a family holiday in Salcombe. The dog friendly detached house with large enclosed garden has two parking spaces and three comfortable bedrooms as well as two great entertaining areas and multiple bathrooms.

The house is located just 3 minutes’ walk from popular Island Street which is home to numerous shops, art galleries, Salcombe Dairy Ice Cream and The Island Street Bar and Grill which serves up good food and a great atmosphere. A further five minutes’ walk will take you into the centre of Salcombe where you can access the passenger ferry to the beach or explore the shops and art galleries.

Entrance to hall leading to lounge with two sofas, armchair, Smart TV, DVD player and log effect gas fire. Dining room with dining table to seat 8. Kitchen with AGA, large fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. Conservatory with breakfast table to seat 4, two armchairs and doors leading to rear garden. Utility room with tumble dryer, sink and cupboard to hang wet suits. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. First floor: Master bedroom with super king size bed and en suite shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. Bedroom 2 with king size bed. Bedroom 3 with twin beds. Family bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC.

Large enclosed garden with two sets of garden tables and chairs. Level patio at bottom of garden and then sloping garden with stepping stones up to level seating area at top with estuary glimpses.

Parking for 2 medium/large cars in private drive (two very large cars could be tight).

  • Included: Bed Linen and towels, (guests must provide their own beach towels), electricity, central heating. Travel cot, high chair and stair gate.

  • Telephone: No telephone. Mobile signal good. Wi-Fi.

  • Pets: Yes (one medium/large dog or two small dogs accepted). (Pet charge £30.00 per week).

  • Local facilities: Sandy beaches at North and South Sands 1 mile. Smalls Cove, Mill Bay, Sunny Cove across estuary by foot ferry on the East Portlemouth side. Shops - local Spar shop up hill, other shops, bars and restaurants under 5 minutes’ walk (fairly level). Kingsbridge with all facilities 6 miles.

Lovely welcoming house - especially the Aga in the kitchen for warmth on the colder than average couple of weeks we had in August.

The only comment I have to make is that the toilet seat in the en-suite was broken. This was reported in the property comment book several times and nothing has been done about it.

Coppers is a terrific family house and garden in a lovely location in a 'real residential' part of town. It has a comfy, well-loved feeling to it and is very practical. The beds, bed linens and towels are superb. The lounge is a little small for a big group, but the large dining table, spacious kitchen with conservatory off make up for this. We were very pleased we were able to use the house as our base while re-visiting Salcombe as a family group after several years - now with grown-up offspring and spouses, (my parents used to have a house in Courtenay Street). We would definitely like to stay there again.

Booked with toad hall lots of times always very straight forward! House was close to salcombe and having 2 parking spaces was great!! The house was cosy and lots of equipment in the kitchen home from home!!!
