Court Barton No.3: This spacious cottage which makes up part of popular Court Barton in South Devon has wonderful views down the valley to the sea from the large patio and lounge. The property has a modern kitchen and bathroom and is furnished to a good standard throughout with nice decorative touches.

Peacefully situated in a tiny hamlet in one of the loveliest corners of Devon between Salcombe and Thurlestone are the attractive group of converted Georgian barns that comprise Court Barton. All cottages enjoy the use of the newly refurbished outdoor (May Spring Bank Holiday to Sept) and indoor (all year) heated swimming pools, games room with table tennis and table football, an all-weather tennis court, and the extensive grounds which includes two attractive courtyards, an orchard and croquet lawn. Should you wish to leave the comfort of this delightful place, less than a mile away is the beach at Thurlestone Sands, wonderful for sunbathing, swimming and watersports, with the village of Thurlestone itself a little further on with its famous links golf course. The beautiful sailing mecca of the Salcombe estuary with its golden beaches is only 3 miles.

Hallway with new shower room, corner shower, basin and WC. Door into roomy living room with two generous sofas, one a 4ft 8in sofa-bed, TV/DVD and dining table to seat 6. New well equipped kitchen with induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer dryer and microwave. Superb views from sliding patio doors and terrace across farmland to the sea. Open tread stairs to landing. Double bedroom with King size 5ft double bed and TV. Twin bedroom with 3ft beds and occasional children's pull out 2ft 6in truckle bed. New bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

  • Included: Bed linen and towels, (guests must provide their own beach towels), Electricity and heating (oil filled radiator and electric panel heating). Travel cot, high chair and stair gate.

  • Pets: All dogs must be well behaved and kept on leads within the grounds. Special dog walking area provided. (Pet charge £25.00 per week).
  • Local Facilities: Beach South Milton Sands 1 mile. Hope Cove under 2 miles. Shop and pubs 1¼  miles at Malborough. Salcombe 3 miles.

Was great to find somewhere so truly dog friendly. We loved the exercise area and the 'long lead' on the patio so that we could have the doors open and not worry about the dog escaping. The cottage was clean on arrival and Val was really friendly. Our toddler loved the swimming pools on site and it was lovely to not have to travel with cot/highchair and stairgate as all provided.

I deliberately booked a property at a complex where we used to hold a timeshare, and I was very pleased that Toad Hall have taken management of these cottages in hand and that the spirit and presentation of the complex has changed little. It was still wonderful to visit, somewhere we could relax, with the cottages and grounds very well looked after. It is also pleasing to see the company having such a presence in the South West and obviously taking great care to provide lovely holidays as well as encouraging support of local businesses via the local discount promotions, as well as providing continuity of employment (the receptionist who used to look after the timeshares when we were shareholders 2 decades ago was still there when we were there this year and remembered us :-) )

Great stay again this year, enhanced by the lovely weather. Our Grandchildren made full use of the outdoor/indoor pools, games room, etc. Fantastic well run complex, within walking distance of the beach.
