A really lovely cottage with welcoming, friendly, helpful owners. The best equipped kitchen I've ever been in in a holiday let! The cottage manages to be both light and airy and warm and cosy Great for the dog with a secure garden and washable floors. Beautiful area with walks on the doorstep. Highly recommended.
Very comfy, quiet and convenient. Access is a slight problem due to the narrow roads but is easily overcome. Very helpful owners who could not do enough to make our stay more comfortable.
The owners were very welcoming which included a lovely cream tea upon our arrival which was a lovely touch after a long journey. The owners who lived in an adjacent and attached property balanced their friendly helpfulness whilst considering our privacy. The information booklet provided proved very useful too offering accurate information for those we selected to experience. In conclusion we loved our stay that included our accommodation, the location, the hospitality and general area. Would we return? Yes indeed and we would recommend this property to our friends and family too. Many many thanks for a wonderful weeks holiday.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Duck End and would recommend this cottage to friends and family. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Owners were very welcoming. Very peaceful setting.
While generally the standard of the equipment was good there was a distinct lack of provision for the storage of dry food goods. such as breakfast cereals, preserves, tin food, biscuits, dog food etc., etc., however this certainly would not prevent us from using this property again.
Thank you for your comments and pleased that you had a good holiday. We've passed your comments about storage onto the owners, but providing additional storage in the kitchen area may prove a little difficult. However, we'll look into it and hope to see you again soon. The Toad Hall team.

Duck End was lovely. The owners were very helpful. Would love to go there again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Duck End to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It is a lovely peaceful hideaway very well equipped comfortable and clean.Good location for exploring this part of Devon. A nice thought by the owners John and Lisa to provide a Devon cream tea on arrival and thanks to Toad Hall the goody bag for our dog Murphy
It was a lovely area to stay, very tranquill and lovely to hear the beautiful birdsong. On arrival there was a lovely welcome with a homemade cake,a chew for the dog and a jug of milk. I was very impressed with the goodie bag for my dog that was left on the doorstep of the accommodation one day. My golden retreiver was more than pleased. Very nice touches with the owners and Toad Hall Cottages willing to go that extra mile to make our stay one to remember.
A superbly pleasant, comfortable and relaxing location. Perfect to unwind and get away from it all. The welcome cake and flowers were a really good touch. I'll definitely be recommending Duck End to friends and family.
This cottage has the "wow" factor from the moment you arrive. The peace and tranquillity cannot be conveyed through any brochure, you have to experience it! Utterly lovely in every sense. The cottage is full character providing high quality furnishings throughout and spotlessly clean (even a home made cake and flowers await). Equally as important was the safe and enclosed environment for our dogs. Our stay was totally faultless and we will be returning next year.
We had such a wonderful stay absolutely loved the cottage and the area, would love to come back
