Hidden away in the folds of a peaceful valley, just a short drive from the beach at Torcross and the village of Slapton, Farmers is a sophisticated and welcoming contemporary barn conversion. Part of an exclusive development of former farm buildings enclosing a large courtyard this imaginative holiday destination is perfect for families or couples looking for accommodation that offers just a little bit more.  Tastefully furnished throughout it boasts the convenience of 3 bedrooms and bathrooms with a comfortable vaulted living room and adjoining modern kitchen and outside there is an enclosed patio garden where you can relax with a book or dine alfresco.  Being so close to the coast, with wonderful walks and plenty of attractions readily accessible in this beautiful area of Devon, we think that Farmers will provide an ideal base for a great holiday.

Please note Farmers is located one mile outside of Slapton village down typical narrow Devon lanes.

Ground floor hallway.  Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Spacious master bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed and TV. Adjacent dressing room/infants bedroom with either Z bed or travel cot (please specify if required when booking).. En suite bathroom with power shower over bath, hand basin and WC.  Open tread stairs to living room with leather sofas, bean bag and TV with Sky digital and DVD. Dining area with seating for 6. Modern kitchen with ceramic hob, twin ovens, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Rear entrance hallway. Study/bedroom with 4ft sofa bed (please specify if you require it made up for your stay) and TV. Shower room with power shower, hand basin and WC. Open tread stairs, passing balcony overlooking the courtyard to gallery landing leading to twin bedroom with two 2ft 6in beds and TV. En suite bathroom with power shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Three steps from landing to small gallery sleeping area with 2ft 6in Z bed (can be made up elsewhere if required).

Please Note: For smaller parties, on receipt of travel details can guests please advise the owner which beds they require made up, equating to the number of guests staying.

Parking for up to 2 cars in parking area (not courtyard).

  • Local facilities: Beaches. Torcross (shingle) 1½  miles. Blackpool Sands 4 miles. Other South Hams beaches all within ½ hour drive. Several pubs serving good food in Slapton, Torcross and Stokenham. Farm Shop in Stokenham. Kingsbridge and Dartmouth with all facilities 6 miles.

Loved it. Very impressed, well above our expectations. If we ever revisit the area will probably come back here.

Lovely, spacious accommodation. Very high standard of furnishings and equipment. Only downside for us as a family was that the garden wasn't suitable for playing football. Highly recommend- really good value for money. A welcome box of basic essentials would have made it perfect. We look forward to visiting again: we have stayed in several holiday homes in the area and my children declared this by far the best.

Lower Coltscombe is a location visited regularly during 1990'. It is lovely to see Farmers has been converted to such a high standard and in an imaginative way- so spacious!! Also we got lucky with the weather which added to the experience.

Gorgeous location, lovely clean house, the kitchen is so well equipped. A couple of little niggles though, the wi-fi would not work. All in all a fab few days.

I have been booking properties through Toad Hall Cottages for over twenty years. I can honestly say that Farmers is definitely the best that I have stayed in to date. An extremely spacious and well equipped property in a rather special location.
