A lovely property, very tastefully decorated and furnished. The 'welcome pack' of wine (and doggy snacks for any dog owners!) was also much appreciated - thanks!
We have never stayed in a property that is so very well equipped and with everything working. This made a difference for us and stress free. The location is perfect for walking into Dartmouth which meant we only used our car a couple of times as it was either walking, ferry or steam train! Highly recommend Ferndale.
Enjoyed our stay despite the weather . Would definitely recommend Ferndale and couldn't fault it . We are looking forward to booking again in the future.
Excellent property with everything you need for a holiday . Location ideal as a 5 minute walk into centre of Dartmouth , having parking at the cottage an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again .
No just perfect! Excellent and well provisioned house, nice touch with the wine and dog treats. Very pleased will all aspects and look forward to booking again soon. PS - Big thank you to owners for allowing dogs!
We had a lovely week staying at Ferndale. The cottage is only 10 minutes walk away from the harbour so was an ideal base. It was also quiet as it is away from the main road. The cottage was well equipped, clean & tidy. We would not hesitate returning to Ferndale.
We have recently spent a week at this lovely place. Ferndale is really well situated with a short walk to the middle of Dartmouth. We felt at home the moment we walked in the door. Very comfortable with all you would want for your stay. Car parking is at a premium in the vicinity but providing you have a small car then the adjoining car port is fine. We would thoroughly recommend this property.
Ferndale is a lovely house, very comforable and perfect for us as we could park the car and not use it again, We were exactly where we wanted to be. Would definitely return. So nice of the owners to permit our dog also. Thank you
A lovely weeks stay in wonderful Dartmouth. This end terrace has everything you could want to facilitate your holiday. All the rooms are decorated and furnished to a good standard and the kitchen and bathroom well equipped. Terraced garden has nice views although the right of way is a bit of a snag for letting out the dog if you have the type that needs supervision. Our dog didn't like walking on the plastic grass anyway (for some reason). Try walking the dog up Jawbone Hill and over Dawes Hill for great panoramic views over the river. Good to have covered parking space and you can turn your car before going back down the slope if you're careful..
Everyone we dealt with were both friendly and professional. We had a great holiday thank you. I have already recommended this cottage to three other people looking for a uk holiday. Barrel Jelly Fish very exciting and our very own resident indigenous stick insect which we found fascinating. ( released to nearby privet hedge as we left) Might be worth including a bit about the local wildlife as most people and certainly children would be interested.
we have just come to the end of a perfect week here at Ferndale in Dartmouth. The property is the best one we have stayed at in our 9 yr history of South Coast holiday lettings. We are a family of 4 adults and a small dog, and there was easily enough space for all of us. Plenty of storage- especially in the kitchen and very thoughtful decor and soft furnishings throughout. Very useful to have a parking space-if a little tight entry lane for our large Ford! But do-able. Dartmouth town-only a short walk, has plenty of dog friendly eateries although the well equipped kitchen meant that self catering was not a problem. Fantastic large TV with nice comfy seating- tho would be a squeeze for 6 in 1room. Overall, a gem of a find. Highly recommended.
We have recently had a wonderful break at Ferndale for a week in June, with my husband, son, mother and two small dogs. The decor was fabulous and must have recently been done up as everything was immaculate. Everything you could wish for was provided including tea towels, towels, bed linen, pots and pans, wi-fi. A parking space (which at first seems a bit tight, but you get used to it) was invaluable and to be this close to the centre was fantastic as we could take the dogs out with us, and then pop them back if we wanted to eat out etc. The only thing which we didn't realise, but that wasn't a big issue was that there was a small pathway immediately outside the property and then a lovely gated terraced gardens, with fab views. It wouldn't be a problem for most, and was ok really for us but it meant we couldn't leave the patio doors open for fear of dogs and baby escaping down the lane. Once they were in the garden it was fine as there was a gate and it was secure. All in all a fantastic break, loved Dartmouth and never had such a dog friendly location with pubs, cafes, shops and ferries all happy to accommodate our odd family.
