The Hayloft is a charming studio apartment, designed in a quirky, appealing and romantic style.  Cleverly modernised to reflect an open plan living area perfectly suited to couples. Its delightful character creates an enjoyable experience with views across the garden and far reaching countryside. The provision of a cosy wood burner makes this a great choice for out-of-season breaks too.  Outside there is plenty of seating on the patio and courtyard along with access to the garden and pond area, where you will find additional seating in a relaxing and peaceful setting.  The property is perfectly located in a beautiful part of Devon, and situated near the quiet and picturesque village of Colyton. The position makes it an ideal holiday base for exploring both Devon, Dorset and the famous Jurassic Coast.  You will also find plenty of delightful local walks and bridleways on the doorstep too.  

The Hayloft is part of a group of properties all with their own individual character which can be booked as a group for big parties requiring a venue for a special celebration or event - please see TFFARM  and TFBULL, TFCALF, TFDAIR, TFBARN

The whole of the Jurassic Coast (including Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth), now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only about 15 minutes away by car.  The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area.  For those that enjoy a culinary treat, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage shop and restaurant is a short drive away in the East Devon market town of Axminster.

Ground floor: entrance with seating area and access to the Bathroom with shower over bath, W.C. and handbasin. Storage cupboards for walking gear. Stairs leading to First floor: Lounge/dining room with TV/DVD, i-dockMP3, dining table seating two, sofa and woodburner.  Studio style kitchen with electric convector oven/grill/microwave, double hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and electric drying rack. Bedroom with a double bed and is part of the clever open plan design.

Patio area with furniture and BBQ. Garden and seating near the pond.  A pet should be accompanied when in the garden.

Yes we were very impressed with the cottage. It was well provisioned and situated. The owners provided a cream tea and vase of flowers on arrival which were much appreciated. We also thought the grounds were impressive and good for dog owners like ourselves. Will certainly consider booking a cottage through you again in the future.

Great place, excellent location to explore Dorset and East Devon. Really enjoyed the stay. Well equipped property. Overall a really lovely place and I would not hesitate to recommend it for a couple.

Really appreciated the milk and cake on arrival. Love that there was tea and coffee. The only thing missing for us (and appreciate this isn’t everyone’s thing) is a cafetière for coffee. Otherwise superbly equipped!

Our holiday was enhanced by our accommodation at Hayloft, Colyton. A lot of thought has been put in to the layout and furnishings of Hayloft. A quiet backwater with lovely gardens to explore and a large play area for children and pets. The location of this property is so convenient to visit the many attractions in East Devon. A magical place to unwind and relax.

Loved our stay! This is our second time in the Hayloft and we weren't disappointed, Jane is absolutely lovely and makes you feel so welcome! Such a beautiful place and kept so nicely. We loved the new additions to the cottages too.

The place was charming, spotless, so well fitted out, and the owner, Jane Urquhart, was the most delightful and helpful person you could wish to meet - this has been our best UK cottage holiday ever - but don't tell too many people, or we might find it difficult to book again in the future! 100% for the property, 200% for the owner!

Jane the owner is most welcoming. All of her rentals are superbly decorated with a personal touch. It's the most relaxing place we have encountered. The surroundings are peaceful, calming and inviting. The orangery is stunning!

Such a fantastic short break. Very dog friendly and Jane the owner was great , she gave us such a warm welcome and made sure our stay was perfect. Jane also put a bottle of wine in the fridge and free range eggs with milk and bread what saved us a trip to the shop. The location was great and there was some beautiful walk ways with beautiful views , and if you don't fancy waking out you can enjoy the wonderful gardens of the cottages. We will be returning but hopefully for longer next time.

Couldn't have wished for a warmer welcome when we arrived. Jane was lovely and helped with anything we needed. The cottage was lovely, very cosy and perfect for 2 people looking for a quiet break away. Will be coming back again :)

Jane was very welcoming and the essential basics food pack, helped take the stress out of having to rush and shop. The wine was a lovely welcome which meant I could relax upon arrival. The garden area by the pond was a relaxing place to sit with my dog after a busy day out walking the coastal paths.
