High Tor is a modern, well-appointed and comfortable property sitting on a quiet residential street in the popular yachting mecca of Salcombe, South Devon, with first floor views towards the Salcombe estuary. Fully renovated in recent years and divided over three floors as well as offering a large family garden and patio, High Tor is perfectly suited to a family group or perhaps two couples. Within easy reach of the town plus a wealth of sandy beaches and wonderful walks along the magnificent South Devon coastline, this is an ideal property for guests looking for a conveniently located house, beautifully presented  with garden and all modern comforts.

Please note: When the property is let at a discounted rate for 4 people or less in the low season the attic bedroom will be closed off.

Steps lead up to front entrance hall with bifolding glazed doors separating off the lounge; polished wooden floors leading through to the spacious lounge dining room with large flat screen TV and DVD player, two large sofas and rotating leather club chairs, contemporary gas-fire set in the wall, storage cupboards filled with books and games. Wireless Broadband available. Dining area with extending dining table and chairs to seat six. Well equipped kitchen with built in electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, leading to the conservatory with small breakfast table and doors leading out towards the patio and garden. Ground floor cloakroom with WC. First floor master bedroom with 5ft king sized double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, twin bedroom with 3ft single beds, wardrobe and drawers, bunk room with 3ft bunk beds -room only suitable for children. Please note this room is narrow and space is restricted. Family bathroom with bath and shower over, WC, basin and bidet. Enclosed wooden staircase to attic bedroom with king size bed with flat screen TV, fitted cupboards and chest of drawers and views towards the estuary. En-suite shower room with countertop basin, shower cubicle and WC.

Utility room at end of garden with superb wet room with shower and WC, adjoining the utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and kitchen cupboards. Decking adjacent to the property with table and chairs and charcoal barbeque, another paved patio at the end of the lawned garden with another garden table and chairs to take advantage of the morning sun.

  • Local Facilities: Beaches at North and South Sands 1 mile. Smalls Cove, Mill Bay, Sunny Cove across estuary by foot ferry on the East Portlemouth side. Shops - local Spar shop 20 metres. Other shops, bars and restaurants - 10 minute walk down the hill to the town centre (a little longer coming back).

Lovely comfortable property. Had everything we needed. Beds really comfortable with good towels and linens.

Really lovely feel to the house. Beds were very comfortable, decor great, loved the stripes. The bathroom had a fantastic mirror, the showers were good too. Would definitely stay there again and it was great having the Spar shop so close by too.

Very clean, spacious house with many facilities and a nice garden (bit of a sun trap!). Everything we needed was provided - close to the Spar (which cheered up our in-laws!) - would return again. Only areas that were not up to what we expected: - curtains in room near 1st floor bathroom were almost see through - got round that by purchasing a blackout blind so that our 8 year could sleep. - Other thing - nice room at top of property - would have benefited from a power shower! Two minor observations that didn't spoil our stay. Very pleased with the organisation from Toad Hall too,

It is great to see you had such a lovely time at this popular Salcombe property. The owner has informed us he will be fitting new blinds in the two main bedrooms. We hope to see you again soon.

Salcombe is so pretty and left us wanting to explore more. We felt the cottage was well furnished and clean and had everything we needed. The only downside was that there wasn't much onstreet parking - which was advertised in the house details, and would have been a problem in season. As it was we weren't able to park outside in the pouring rain - which was awkward with a baby and 84 yo dad.

such very thoughtful owners they had thought of everything you could possibly have wanted on a holiday providing items from garden furniture to umbrellas, games and books to children's cutlery. Even a lovely sponge cake to welcome us

Our party of 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 dog stayed at High Tor for a week in May and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, very well maintained and has everything you could need. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a holiday property in Salcombe.
