Higher Furlong is a superb, detached family house set in lovely gardens, commanding exceptional views of the bay at Thurlestone and on to the headland of Bolt Tail. Set in a quiet private road in an exclusive area in Thurlestone, the house is just a few minutes walk to the beach, the village stores, the local pub, the Thurlestone Hotel and the golf course. Magnificent views can be enjoyed from the terrace, a great place to enjoy al-fresco dining. All rooms, most of which enjoy the views, are comfortably furnished in this well equipped, bright and attractive family home; an absolute must for large family groups to enjoy, in this outstanding area.

Ground Floor:  Attractive lounge with bay windows, window seats and open fireplace, furnished with sofas & armchairs, flat screen TV/DVD,  full Sky Sports and Movies Package.  Sitting room with bay window and window seat, writing desk and deep comfy sofas, leading to the dining room/ kitchen. Well equipped fitted kitchen, ceramic hob with built-under electric oven, oil-fired Aga (switched off in summer months) fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and archway into spacious dining area. This room, with dining table to seat 11 has patio doors which open onto the terraceUtility room with washing machine and freezer. Cloakroom with plenty of space ideal for storage of wetsuits & sports equipment, separate basin and WC. First floor: Bedroom 1 Master bedroom with superking size bed, wardrobes, fabulous views and en suite bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, WC. Bedroom 2 superking 6ft bed -(which can be separated to form two 3ft single beds please advise at time of booking if this is required), fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, vanity unit with wash basin and lovely views. Off this room is Bedroom 5, a small single child's bedroom with standard cot and small single bed. Bedroom 3, with two sets of full size 3ft bunk beds (sleeping 4 children), fitted wardrobe. Bedroom 4, twin bedroom with 3ft beds, fitted wardrobe, wash basin and garden views. Family bathroom with bath, basin, separate shower cubicle, WC.

Beautifully kept, mature garden with spacious lawns, trees and shrubs. Across the front of the house is a stone terrace featuring a pergola with garden table, chairs, parasol and protected on one side by glass panelling, a superb spot to enjoy outdoor meals and the beautiful views.

Ample parking at both the front and rear of the house in a private driveway.

  • Local Facilities: Beach 400 metres. Excellent village shop and Post Office, Village pub, tennis courts, Thurlestone golf club and course (handicap required): All within a quarter of a mile. Kingsbridge 4 miles, Salcombe 8 miles.

Beautiful location. House was well equipped and spacious, clean and well kept. My only negative comments are, there wasn't a discount card on the keys as stated in the welcome brochure, which we would have used and the garden is not enclosed so we had to keep an eye on our dog, couldn't leave him out on his own. Apart from that great place to stay and the weather was fantastic.
