Thurlestone, one of the best places for a seaside holiday on Devon’s beautiful coastline, has a horseshoe shaped sandy beach, a magnificently sited seaside golf course and endless opportunities for marvellous walks all the way from Bantham and the Avon estuary to the great cliffs before Salcombe. Jasmine Cottage is tucked in the old part of the village, a short walk from the local pub and shop and is a most attractive, spacious semi-detached 19th century cottage which has been modernised and extended. This very well furnished and equipped property is a real home-from-home family house with a delightful enclosed garden.

Front door opens into separate porch (for coats and boots). Spacious most attractive sitting room with stylish furnishings, stripped pine floors, rugs, 2 sofas and 2 armchairs, wood burner, TV, DVD and stereo/CD player, wireless broadband. Door to lobby opening to kitchen and wet room. Stylish, light and airy kitchen with French windows to the garden, roof lights and slate floor, electric hob, built-in electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and Rayburn (not for use). Table seating 8, larder cupboard and French doors to the garden. Smart tiled wet room with separate shower, basin, WC, washing machine, small freezer and extra fridge with freezer compartment. Carpeted stairs to first landing with gallery over living room and pine floors that continue throughout all the bedrooms. Large double bedroom with 6ft bed, French windows with Juliet balcony and great views over the bay. Adjacent bathroom with bath, hand-held shower attachment, basin and WC. Small bunk bedroom with 3ft full size bunks. Twin room with 3ft beds, hanging cupboard and pretty Victorian fireplace. Further stairs to carpeted top bedroom set in the eaves of the roof with wash basin, pine furniture, 4ft 6in bed and fine sea views.

The property fronts onto the village street. At the rear is a most attractive, secluded and enclosed garden with slate patio, garden furniture, barbecue, lawns edged with shrubs and further access reached across the rear of 2 adjoining properties.

On the road or in the village hall car park 200 meters away.

Surprisingly spacious, comfortable, well equipped and very attractive cottage with great views from the bedrooms and a lovely garden. Only drawback is not having a guaranteed parking place but realise nothing can be done about that.

Excellent location, pub and beach nearby, excellent for walks with the dog. The garden was lovely too, and the cottage was very spacious and well equipped throughout. Hard to think of any improvements needed, we had a fantastic week away

This was my first experience with Toad Hall Cottages and I found the experience from booking to the end of our lovely week in Jasmine Cottage seamless and smooth. Customer service on the telephone was good and any questions I had about inventory and equipment in the cottage were answered well either immediately or by a call back. The choice of cottages is by far the best in the brochure of any in the South West and I would highly recommend the company.


August 2013

This is our 5th year renting with Toad Hall, our 3rd in Thurlestone and second year at Jasmine Cottage. All excellent as usual, except for parking. We have young children and was extremely difficult unloading our luggage on arrival and loading on departure as a car was continually parked directly outside the property. It does state on booking parking available outside cottage as well as in property literature, we had no problem the previous year but seems people are less courteous. Maybe a sign outside cottage stating for residents of cottage only would help?
