The cottage was lovely, we loved the fact that it was completely safe for the dog and that we could have the car in the driveway behind locked gates, if I had anything negative to say it would be that it would be difficult to walk in to the new forest as the road was very busy and there is no pathway directly outside the cottage, but this doc not spoil our holiday and I would not hesitate in returning or reccomending it to any one
My wife and I (and our Border Terrier!) had a wonderful 5 night stay at Kingscliffe. The cottage was incredibly well equipped with every appliance we could have possibly wished for (plus an extensive collection of 'How To' guides and manuals). We felt at home right away. The cottage is very well located for access to The New Forest (it's IN the forest!) and the beautiful nearby beaches. Town amenities are also just a short drive away. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Kingscliffe was one of the best cottage rentals we have ever been to. Our only minor negative would be the ceiling height. A few bumped heads and we got used to it, but be aware, this is a period cottage with low ceilings!
We thoroughly enjoyed the New Forest it is a beautiful part of the country
We had a wonderful stay and the comments we have made are to assist you with your description of the cottage and it's surroundings. We were led from your description to believe it was a cottage set right back away from the road and not overlooked by anyone else. I also said on booking that my husband was 6'5" and asked specifically about the low ceilings to be reassured they were only low in parts of the cottage which is true but I would suggest it is quite uncomfortable for someone of his height to stay in. People need to be made aware of these issues and the very difficult staircase. We got around these issues and please don't think we didn't enjoy it but for new customers it's important they are made fully aware. We would recommend it to friends. Many Thanks
Thank you for your comments about Kingscliffe Cottage. We have checked the property description which states that the cottage is 'set back from the road' and also mentions the 'low ceilings' and 'steep staircase', which is usual in a character cottage such as this. The photographs on our website do show that there are properties adjacent to Kingscliffe Cottage and we are sorry that you thought the property was set alone. We are very pleased to hear that you would recommend Kingscliffe Cottage to your friends.

For us the location was great with easy access to the sea, stables and forest. May not suit those with small kids due to the busy road. We will certainly recommend it to friends.
Kingscliffe Cottage is one of our most popular family properties. The cottage is set back from the road, in the rural hamlet of Bashely. The garden is enclosed for the peace of mind of the families who book this beautiful thatched cottage.

Comfortable well equipped cottage, weather wasn't brilliant
Yes, mainly because of the location, ease of reaching the forest, restaurants, sea etc. Thatched roof was a benifit during the heat wave but the noisey road restricted the outside seating. The stairs needed care to negotiate. It is appreciated that the last two items cannot be altered. The location made up for these difficulties and we would not complain if we booked again.
Hadnt realised the cottage was on such a busy, noisy road. It was not pleasant sitting outside.
We are sorry to hear that you found the road noise unpleasant when sitting outside the property. The property sits just off the B 3058, a 30mph road, a short journey to direct forest access. Many repeat customers are returning year after year to this lovely picturesque dog friendly cottage in the heart of the quiet village of Bashley. We hope you will return to the New Forest again soon.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy warm cottage. Everything was there that we needed
Beautiful cottage with tons of character. Well located for the forest and the beach.
We had a wonderful holiday in this excellent cottage
Kingscliffe is the cottage we visit every year and we still love it everytime.
A superb cottage, extremely well situated for travelling around the New Forest and beyond. Very highly recommended.
This was our first family trip to the New Forest - we had the most amazing holiday! There is so much to see and do in the New Forest - there was plenty to keep us occupied. A truly amazing holiday and one we will repeat again
Perfect setting for exploring! We filled our week with walks in The New Forest & along the beaches and surrounding areas. Also recommend trip to Beaulieu Motor Museum, Hurst Castle & Lepe.
The property was one of the best maintained and equipped that we have stayed in.
We had a fantastic experience at the cottage, the pictures really don't do it justice. It's extremely professionally renovated and the level of attention to detail is flawless. We will hopefully be back this year!
Kingscliffe Cottage is absolutely superb - we could not fault it and would love to come back!
Fabulous cottage! The interior is second to none. Easy access to any part of the south coast. Could not have wished for a better holiday. Loved it!
Had a great week at Kingscliffe Cottage. It's been very well restored, beautifully furnished and is full of character!
We all had a fabulous holiday and would certainly book through you again
