As well as a sandy beach and seafront promenade, Lyme Regis includes celebrity chef Mark Hix's superb Oyster and Seafood Restaurant, along with many other restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms. Lyme Regis is a wonderful location for those looking for a traditional seaside break. There are a wide selection of independent shops, as well as an award winning museum and small theatre. For the more adventurous the South West Coast Path heads west through the amazing Undercliffe between Lyme Regis and Axmouth, or east towards Charmouth and the magnificent National Trust land at Golden Cap. For those planning a holiday without a car, the mainline railway station in nearby Axminster is served by a regular bus service (or taxis), to and from the town.
