Description

Lower Rora View enjoys the entire ground floor of an impressive architect designed house set in a unique hilltop position commanding views over the valley and surrounding Dartmoor National Park (please note the friendly and considerate owners live on the upper floors). The accommodation is well-quipped and characterful, complete with woodburning stove and an Aga (no conventional oven). There is ample parking directly adjacent to the property as well as a wonderful level lawn, perfect for a game of croquet or boules (both provided) and an outbuilding housing a ping pong table perfect for entertaining both children and adults alike! Furthermore, the house is set in 18 acres of land, through which there are plenty of good walks to enjoy.


Conveniently located just ten minutes' drive from the A38, the main artery to the whole South West, the house is very well placed. Close to beaches at Shaldon and Teignmouth, only minutes to Haytor on Dartmoor, and the nearby arts and craft town of Bovey Tracey is itself a gateway to Dartmoor and the beautiful Teign Valley.

The paved terrace extends out from the ground floor living room (partly shaded by the balcony above) and to one side there is a level lawn area (fenced for dogs) perfect for a game of boules or croquet (both provided) . There is also an outside game shed with table tennis table in place.

A driveway leads around the side down to a paved area with ample parking for several cars directly outside the property. There are three separate entrances from the parking area to the accommodation (one via glazed patio doors into the sitting room, one via side door into the inner hall and one via glazed door into bedroom 1).

  • Included: Bed linen and towels – guests are required to provide their own beach/dog towels. Electricity, water and oil central heating.
  • Internet and Telephone: Wi-Fi available free of charge. No telephone. Mobile reception good with 4G available in certain areas but please always check with your provider before booking.  
  • Pets: Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome. Dog charge £25.00 per dog per week (please note for 2019 this charge will increase to £30.00 per dog per week).
