Situated above and over-looking the beautiful Whitsand Bay beaches, this property has stunning views across to St Georges Island just off Looe to the West, and Rame Head peninsula to the East.  This amazing coastal getaway makes an ideal seaside retreat, with easy access to two sand and shingle beaches with numerous rock pools, a small harbour plus the beach known as Finnygook Beach, which on suitable days can be used by experienced surfers. Dogs are permitted from October up to Easter day on this beach.
The large picture windows in the spacious contemporary upstairs living area let the outside in and somewhere to marvel at the exceptional view. This property has been extensively renovated throughout. Portwrinkle Bay itself has a sea front café a stroll away, the golf club and hotel restaurant is round the corner and a pub within an energetic walking distance away.

Cornwall itself has much to see and do, all within easy driving distance from Portwrinkle, from the many small coves, fishing villages and estuaries on the South coast, to the dramatic North coast with its amazing surfing beaches.  The famous Eden Project is well worth a visit and the popular fishing villages of Polperro and Looe are just a few minutes’ drive away.

The house is entered on the upper level. The kitchen dining room with its Travertine flooring and new modern facilities such as a dishwasher,microwave, large fridge freezer, ceramic hob, built in oven, dining table with seating for 8, and all kitchen requirements. Across the hallway is the den, a games room TV/DVD Blu-Ray, plus the ability to make this into an occasional 4th bedroom by way of a double sofa bed, on this same level is a cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin.

Stepping down a flight of 6 stairs you enter the spacious and comfortable open plan living roomwith its natural solid oak flooring and generous stylish sofas, large TV/DVD Blu-Ray, it has an extra side seating area to one side of this large room but all enjoying the glorious views from the picture window.

Down another flight of 7 stairs to the mid-level; the twin bedroom has two 3ft beds and generous storage space.  The family bathroom has a corner bath with shower over, wash hand basin and WC. The Laundry room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is an integral outdoor courtyard space, this area is for hanging wet clothing and storing beach paraphernalia.  Down a further 6 steps to the Master bedroom which has a king size 5 foot bed and plenty of storage space, French windows to the patio and garden. The third bedroom with its king size 5ft bed also has French windows to the garden; both these rooms look over the beautiful Whitsand Bay.

Access to the garden is via the lower level bedrooms, or a separate entrance via the enclosed terrace area on the mid-level.  The garden has a lawn and patio, with garden furniture.  A Charcoal BBQ is provided.

  • Local Facilities: Beach access on foot via a public shared path 3 minutes there and 10 minutes back.  Shops one and a half miles away, restaurants and golf 10 minutes walk.  Looe 11 miles, Plymouth 9 miles via Torpoint  ferry.

We had a lovely week and achieved the planned outings. It was necessary to hire a car for the 5 of us and this turned out to be a stressful serious learning curve - a big car with unfamiliar electronics including an electronic hand brake was not ideal on narrow, very hilly roads - but this obviously was not of your doing! The views from the kitchen and living room made up for any problems that arose,

Super property. Great views, dog friendly, lots of space, kitchen utensils and storage. Really well kitted out in terms of home from home comforts. Please note 1. the towel fitting in the cloakroom needs screwing in as it is loose 2. There was a letter ( opened previously, but not by us) in the kitchen.

The cottage was in an excellent location and very well equipped. Lots of brochures and info about the local area which was very useful. Not knowing the area we ordered a grocery delivery in advance from the local Sainsburys. We werent made aware that there was an alternative route to the cottage via the Torpoint ferry, which our children would have enjoyed and would have been a more direct route.

This house is amazingly located and has stunning views. Being so high up we were able to birdwatch to our heart's delight! Swifts, gulls, goldfinches, sparrows - all flying past our window! It's a very well appointed house, tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout. The owner has really thought of everything right down to fluffy white towels and guest soaps. It's really bright, light and spacious inside and the outside space and garden, although compact, is fine for outdoor eating and relaxing. The super clean beaches are 3-4 minutes walk away and Portwrinkle is totally unspoilt with no hint of tourism. What a joy! We'll definitely be back.
