For the more adventurous the South West Coast Path heads west through the amazing Undercliff between Lyme Regis and Axmouth, or east towards Charmouth and the magnificent National Trust land at Golden Cap. The cottage claimed to be no-frills but was easily adequate for our needs. It was very handily placed for the centre of town. It was close to the main road but we did not find this a problem. We did mark the equipment down but this was purely based on the broken condition of the washing machine. This seemed to have been caused by previous hirees trying to force open the door when not appropriate. This washing machine has now been replaced with a brand new one, alas too late for our use! Not a big deal though.
The accommodation was excellent- a perfect location close to town and an excellent playground, and very comfortable. The bed (in the master bedroom) was comfortable, the shower worked well, and the property as a whole worked well for our family. I would thoroughly recommend it to others.
We absolutely loved it at Milton cottage, it was the perfect size for the 2 of us & would be great for a small family. Although it was a bit dated, there was a lot of character and it was very comfortable, even the bed was lovely & comfy! The location was amazing, but we didn't realise how busy the road was going to be so there was a lot of road noise that we could hear, even at night & with the windows closed, that we didn't expect but we did get used to this after a couple of days. The only thing that was a shame was that the little court yard garden was rather run down & full of cobwebs, so it wasn't too nice to sit out there, but then, you have got the beach 2 mins walk away :) We honestly did love our holiday & would be happy to stop at Milton Cottage again, just a couple of little tweaks of the cottage though would make it go from excellent to perfect :)
Yes we enjoyed our stay.
