This is a real gem of a holiday hideaway, full of character with a snug cottage feel, a sunny private garden and off road parking. Situated on the outskirts of the quintessentially Cornish fishing village of Polperro, about 10 minute’s easy stroll from the harbour and beach, Mousehole Cottage provides an ideal base from which to explore and enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. A downstairs extra living room/playroom is an ideal spot for youngsters, where they can watch TV and DVD’s or play games, giving the adults some well-earned rest.  On the top floor a sunny lounge with feature fireplace is a cosy place to relax whatever the season and a few steps up from the kitchen door brings you to the sizeable rear garden. For families that love the coast there are several beaches within walking or driving distance and for those who enjoy the great outdoors, the South West Coastal path runs through Polperro and gives access to the miles of dramatic coastline, with its many secluded coves and stunning views.  Looe offers the attractions of a more traditional seaside town and further afield the famous Eden Project and the National Aquarium in Plymouth are well worth a visit.

Spacious master double bedroom with 5ft king size bed, window seat, antique pine wardrobe, chest of drawers and bureaux. Further stairs up to the second floor. Lounge with feature fireplace equipped with stove effect electric heater, comfortable sofas, flat screen TV, DVD and Freeview. Twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, hanging wardrobe and tallboy. Tiled bathroom with bath (electric shower over), hand basin, WC and two heated towel rails. Farmhouse kitchen/diner equipped with ceramic hob, double oven and grill, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, dining table and seating for six.

Off road parking for 2 small cars or one medium to large car on drive directly in front of the cottage.

  • Local Facilities: Polperro beach 10 minute’s walk. Talland beach 35 minutes walk or 10 minutes drive. Shops, pubs and restaurants all in Polperro. Looe with more facilities, 4 miles. Plymouth 25 miles. Truro 29 miles.

Myself and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and in Polperro and hope to book again some time next year and would like to thank yourselves for the cake and the milk in the fridge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mousehole Cottage and hope to return there in the near future. It was extremely conveniently situated near the bus stop and Crumplehorn Inn & Mill. Mousehole Cottage was quaint but with added modern utilities ..... we absolutely loved it.

My family and I had a really enjoyable stay at the MouseHole Cottage in Polpero. The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and well located for exploring Cornwall. Polpero is a beautiful harbour fishing village with a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The cottage is well located to explore the Polpero area. I would highly recommend this cottage

If i was going to be picky the only thing i can think of is that the property doesn,t have a tumble dryer and given the nature of our climate having one at the property would be an absolute bonus, but other than that this property is a delight and i would not hesitate in recommending it

We have stayed many times in this cottage and love it more each time we stay. It is situated in an ideal spot with parking right outside so no need to carry the suitcases and other bags from the car park, It is a well-equipped cottage with towels and bedding supplied and has ample space to sleep six people easily without feeling overcrowded. The back garden is a real suntrap and the washing dries on the line in no time and for the more relaxing times the bar-b-q provided is a real bonus. This cottage is a real gem, a home from home and a must to try and has a successful combination of age and a modern touch and the stairs keep you fit after eating too much fudge!! It is located at the top end of the village but only a short walk from the shops at the bottom and of course only a few paces away from the nearest pub/restaurant. We love staying here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday cottage as both a relaxing stay or a base to further explore beautiful Cornwall.
