This charming detached cottage within walking distance of West Looe, is furnished in a retro style with a contemporary twist and provides comfortable accommodation for both families and couples. The owners have taken great care in choosing the appropriate furniture and decor for each room, which combines to provide a quirky and tasteful environment for a relaxing holiday. Surrounded by its own south facing garden, guests can enjoy sitting in the sun whilst enjoying the views down the valley to the harbour and the sea. Nancecliff is quietly located half way up West Looe hill with an allocated parking space opposite, but a leisurely walk will soon bring you to the bustling harbour where a passenger ferry can take you across to East Looe with its sandy beach, plenty of shops, excellent restaurants and traditional pubs.

Uphill path and steps from lane to front entrance. Living room with two sofas, 1930’s fireplace with electric fire, flat screen TV with DVD and Sky. Newly redecorated dining room with dining table to seat five. Pretty kitchen with ceramic hob, built-under oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Door to rear garden. Stairs to family bathroom with bath, hand basin and WC. Adjacent newly refurbished shower room with shower cubicle and hand basin. A few more steps to the bedrooms. Master double bedroom with 4ft 6in Victorian brass double bed and fitted wardrobe. Small single bedroom with 3ft bed. Second double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed and an Edwardian wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Front garden patio with picnic table and bench. Rear garden on two levels .  The garden is not fenced so not dog proof.

For one car in allocated space opposite the property. Additional parking available in town (charges apply).

  • Included: Bed linen, towels (no beach towels), high chair, WiFi, electricity and central heating (gas).
  • Pets: One well behaved pet over 18 months welcome, but please note that the garden is not enclosed. An additional charge of £25.00 per pet, per week.
  • Telephone: No telephone provided. Mobile reception mixed.
  • Local Facilities: East Looe beach (sandy) and Hannafore beach (rock pools), both 15 minutes walk. West Looe pubs, cafes and mini markets 3 minutes walk. East Looe shops, pubs and restaurants 15 minutes walk. Plymouth 21 miles. Truro 34 miles.

The cottage was very warm and comfortable in a great location. The mix of old and new was quite unique and my only suggestion for improvement would be to make the garden dog and child friendly as there was no fence between the house and next door.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful location. Had all you could need for a self catering break. Lovely touch of cornish cream tea on arrival- very welcoming. Had a wonderful holiday and would definitely book with Toad Hall cottages again.

We would have liked to see a visitors book at Nancecliff. In the past I have found these books a valuable source of information, especially when taking children on holiday as people often recommend things to do on reainy days etc,. We did have internet connection which we used but there is nothing quite like personal recommendations and reading what others did to enjoy the same holiday. Also, directions to the nearest supermaket would have been really useful.
