The Old Barn is a wonderful property, located in a beautiful part of Devon, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.  This attractive stone cottage has been lovingly restored into a very appealing holiday home with lots of charm and character.  The conversion has kept the original beams and the owner has injected a cosy feel with the provision of a wood burner to create a fabulous holiday home with an additional private patio.   There is also plenty of seating in the courtyard along with access to the garden and pond area where you will find additional seating in a relaxing and peaceful setting.  The property is perfectly located near the quiet and picturesque village of Colyton. The position makes it an ideal holiday base for exploring both Devon, Dorset and the famous Jurassic Coast.  You will also find plenty of delightful local walks and bridleways on the doorstep too.  The Old Barn is part of a group of properties all with their own individual character and design - please also see TFBULLTFCALFTFLOFT,  TFDAIR

The whole of the Jurassic Coast (including Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth), now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only about 15 minutes away by car.  The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area.  For those that enjoy a culinary treat, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage shop and restaurant is a short drive away in the East Devon market town of Axminster.

Entrance hall with seating area leading to Bedroom 1 with twin 3ft beds.  Bedroom 2 with single 3ft bed.  Shower Room with wash hand basin and W.C.  Bedroom 3 with 4ft 6inch double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower over bath, W.C. and handbasin.  Stairs leading to open plan design on the First floor: Lounge/dining room with TV/DVD, i-dockMP3, sofa and armchairs, dining table and wood burner. Kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and electric clothes airer.

Private patio area with picnic bench, garden furniture and BBQ to the rear of the property.  Additional seating in the courtyard, garden and near the pond.  

Ample parking at the front of the property.

A perfect stay in perfect surroundings with everything possible provided for. Just one thing, on looking at the reservations for next year, the cottages seem to be offered as one unit sleeping 19! We would only be interested in one or two of the cottages but there are no details of this on the website.

Jane was a wonderful host. She thought of everything with all the little touches in the accommodation. The setting was fantastic with lots of well designed garden area to use communally. Jane gave lots of wonderful recommendations for activities and trips so we were not at a loss for anything to do. We highly recommend the cottages and Jane really made our stay wondeful. Our biggest surprise was the price - for the quality of the accommodation/furnishings/etc we would expect to pay far more than we did and would have happily paid more!

We loved our stay at The Old Barn (May 27 -June 3 2017). Decorated & equipped to a high standard, set in lovely peaceful surroundings & a lovely hostess in Jane the owner of all the properties at Tritchayne, we couldn't have asked for anything more. We will definitely be returning

Most thoughtfully fitted out with wonderful attention to detail. Every kitchen utensil one could wish for and some very much appreciated food basics that meant we could come in and have a cup of tea and a snack without being in a panic to find the local shop. A very comfortable property. Thank you so much for a wonderful week!
