Less than 100 yards from the water at Bridgend Quay in the estuary village of Noss Mayo, Oystercatchers is the perfect bolthole for a luxurious, relaxing couple’s getaway. Nestled on a hillside in one and a half acres of gardens and grounds, this beautifully presented annexe offers fabulous contemporary accommodation. A large open plan living room welcomes you with space to relax after a busy day exploring the area. The first floor bedroom and en suite have been finished to the same high standard, boasting a sheltered glass balcony to enjoy a glass of fizz in the evening sun. With just a short walk to the Coastal Path, or to Bridgend Quay where you can launch a small boat, this is the perfect location to discover South Devon and beyond. Noss Mayo enjoys easy access to plenty of sandy beaches, several market towns and the vast beauty of Dartmoor. The village is also home to two delightful waterside pubs serving local beers and locally sourced food. Whatever time of the year you are visiting, Oystercatcher provides a perfect base for a superb holiday. * Please note: The property will not be accepting pets in 2018 *

What a wonderful place in the most beautiful spot! We've had a fantastic week with lots of wonderful walks.  Oystercatchers is fabulous and spacious, extremely clean and we loved it. We hope to be back. 

Ground floor:  Large open plan living room with spacious lounge area furnished with splendid leather sofa, large flat screen TV, DVD,  iPod dock and french doors to outside. Attractive dining table for two. Well appointed, stylish kitchen with electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer and breakfast bar with stools. First floor: Beautiful Master bedroomwith 5ft kingsize bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, stylish sofa and glass balcony with table and chairs. En suite shower room with large shower, hand basin, heated towel rail and WC.

The adjoining owners’ B&B also offers additional accommodation should you have extra guests visiting you for a stopover by the coast

Please note: At times there may be livestock in the adjoining the grounds, please ensure dogs are kept on a lead if so. Dogs will no longer be permitted for 2018

Extensive terraced gardens with seating areas and BBQ area with a fire pit, two cocoon pods and a table.

Designated parking space on shared drive. Please note: access to the property is up a very steep driveway, which joins the main thoroughfare at a sharp gradient, it may be a challenge for some low-slung vehicles. 

  • Included: Bed linen, towels, (guests must provide their own beach towels) electricity, mains gas central heating, wifi.
  • Telephone: owners available next door in case of emergency. Mobile reception mixed.
  • Pets: One medium sized well behaved dog welcome (cocker spaniel size) PLEASE NOTE: Dogs are not permitted to be left unattended in the property at any time, nor on the furniture or upstairs. A stairgate is provided. Pet charge £25.00 per week. 2018 - no dogs permitted.
  • Local Facilities:  Beaches at Stoke Beach 1.5 miles and Mothecombe 5 miles. Noss Mayo pubs The Ship Inn & The Swan Inn 5-10 minutes’       walk.  Shop, pub and butcher in Newton Ferrers or 10 minute walk / drive around estuary.  Estuary & coastal footpaths within a short walk including one footpath to coast next to property.  Plymouth with a wider selection of facilities 10 miles.

Difficult to get from the property by foot as very few foot paths, a car is essential.

This is a spotlessly clean, beautiful, contemporary property with modern fixtures and fittings, in a scenic and peaceful location. Despite only one bedroom it is very spacious with plenty of places for stowing away bags/cases. The owners next door were extremely welcoming (fresh eggs from their hens and a cream tea awaited our arrival!) and very helpful but never intrusive so despite several glass doors downstairs (making for bright & airy accommodation) there was still complete privacy and it is one of the best holiday properties we have rented. There was a slight lack of small items of kitchen equipment compared to some other properties, but unless you plan to cook a lot it's more than adequate. It is worth being aware that the immediate area for at least a couple of miles around seems to be a complete blackspot for Vodaphone. We had a wonderfully relaxing break and this is a property we definitely intend to return to at some stage.

We had a good holiday despite the inclement weather. The owners were very welcoming and helpful but unobtrusive. A lovely touch with home made bread, apple juice and a welcoming cream tea. Thank you.

Superb accommodation with top quality fittings. Great welcome with fresh bread, ,milk and Devon cream tea. Beautiful setting and loved watching the variety of birds .Clive and Mo helpful but unobtrusive .Unfortunately the weather let us down somewhat

We believe that it is worth warning people before the property is booked about the entrance. We drive a car (an Audi A5) which has a relatively low front skirt and we found that even driving up the road to both enter and exit the driveway we found that the skirt scraped the driveway (with resulting damage to the paintwork), we also saw the owners own mini have the same issue! Other than this matter the property was very good and well presented with the nice surprise of the food package from the owners. We will certainly be looking at your website for future short breaks. The food at the Swan Inn was very good.

Thank you for your feedback, the driveway is now detailed on the website and guests are provided with travel directions to guide them to the best direction of access for entering the driveway. I think that Oystercatcher is quite a new property and it may be that some feedback is required on some of the equipment provided. Just minor things but it would be normal to provide kitchen scissors and a Pizza cutter as part of the normal kitchen equipment. The curtains are quite poor quality and tended to let a lot of light in. In general everything was very good. Mo and Clive were polite and very kind and helpful and the maps and local guides were very good. Size of rooms etc was excellent for two people although it's a shame that a decent size sink wasn't fitted in the bathroom (there's plenty of room for a normal sink) instead of the tiny handbasin that was fitted.

We had a great weekend at Oystercatchers, the people are lovely the location works well and the cottage is immaculate with everything you need. Also super pub in walking distance which you need to book.
