This lovely holiday cottage is utterly delightful, tucked away in a peaceful valley in the folds of rolling Devon hills, a haven of seclusion and privacy and a real hideaway. Attached on one side to a 17th century farmhouse, the cottage is entirely separate with its own front door, separate driveway and the spacious, most attractive sitting room has French doors onto a south facing flagstone terrace that overlooks a beautiful half acre orchard and fenced ponds. Here it is possible to enjoy a summer evening barbecue, or stoke up the fire for a cosy night in after an autumnal walk along the nearby coastal paths. Perfect for two or three people the cottage can accommodate up to 5 with the use of a sofa-bed. Lambs gambol in neighbouring fields and the resident chickens and ducks complete the rural idyll. Delicious home cooked meals can be provided on request. Pippin Cottage is close to some of South Devon’s best surfing beaches with the beautiful estuary of the River Erme and Mothecombe beach a couple of miles away. The twin villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo with popular riverside pubs are on the nearby Yealm estuary, itself a boating haven for all manner of craft.
Please Note: The property is supplied with its own UV filtered and tested spring water.
“On leaving we know what it’s like to be thrown out of the Garden of Eden. Pippin is paradise...Can we come again please?” The O’Dyers, Amsterdam.
“Just the perfect location and a very special welcome. We loved the cottage at first sight and the scrummy cake and wine was a most unexpected delight. Thank you.” Jim and Rita.

we had a lovely stay at Pippin cottage it was just as described and we were warmly welcomed by the owners. Toad hall cottages seem to have got it just right, the cottages and owners we have come across so far have been more than welcoming and we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay along with our dog Billy who has had the time of his life
What a perfect base from which to explore Devon. Situated down a winding lane at Fursdon Farm, the bark of our hosts delightful dog Stanley greeted us and what a little treasure The Pippin is. Very deceiving from the outside although picture perfect with passion flower and wisteria climbing the walls and set in an orchard garden, the cottage is deceptively spacious and offers every comfort you need for a relaxing break. From the chickens who greet you, to sitting in the afternoon sun on the patio - this was absolutely perfect and would be our ideal dream home. Met our expectations and more. Thank you Dean, Julie and Pippa the Springer Christchurch, Dorset
The service provided by Toad Hall Coattages was excellent. Pippin Cottage was delightful. Amazing location so peaceful, lovely big garden. Cottage was very well equipped and also arrived to home made bread and cake, as well as a bottle of wine. Owners couldn't have been more helpful, lovely people. Will definitely be going back again. Can highly recommend.
We had a great holiday at Pippin Cottage. We loved the location so peaceful and so nice to come back to after a day out. It really is in the country but not too far away from the attractions of Devon. We wouldn't hesitate to use Toad Hall Cottages again, and so pleased we found you on the Internet.
Wonderful location - an idyllic cottage with very helpful and friendly owners. Thank you for a superb holiday.
Piping cottage is a little gem, superb location, very comfortable and good to get away from it all. The owners ( who live next door) are very friendly and helpful. Our dog Ruby loved following Stanley with his ball. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break.
