Rose cottage is quietly tucked away in the centre of the picturesque East Devon town of Colyton in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Recently modernised and well equipped, this comfortable holiday home is conveniently located to take advantage of this fascinating Medieval town with its maze of narrow Saxon streets, and magnificent fifteenth century church and listed buildings. There are a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants tucked away amongst the thatched Devon cottages and many glorious walks in the surrounding countryside. Only a few minutes drive from the stunning East Devon and West Dorset coastlines, the seaside towns of Seaton, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis are all within easy reach.
A tram service runs between Seaton and Colyton stopping at Colyford and passing alongside the Axe Estuary which is a nature reserve. There are numerous walks in every direction including some riverside trails and the River Coly flows from its origins further up the valley joining the River Axe just below Colyford. The mile long shingle and sandy beach at Seaton is only 3 miles away and is rarely crowded.

I enjoyed my stay in the cottage and a good location for me to visit a very sick elderly brother in a Residential Home in Beer Seaton.
A superb cottage in a delightful location. Comfy beds and a great shower. Lots to do in the area. Plenty of utensils and equipment to use, if you wished.
We had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage Annex. It is a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a wonderful holiday. It is so peaceful and the garden is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the area. We would highly recommend Lyme Regis, Axe valley wildlife park and the Colyton Seaton tramway
Absolutely loved it. Great location, great village and some lovely trips out to the beaches nearby. Also enjoyed an amazing evening at the River Cottage HQ, which was only 5 Miles away and had booked this before you sent the fab list of activities on during our stay
Great location to visit lots of beautiful places including Beer ,Lyme Regis, Sidmouth , Charmouth and Budleigh Salterton. Two great pubs in the village, the Kingfisher offers very good food menu.
Cleanliness on arrival we have marked as Excellent because apart from the food waste bin not being emptied the cottage was very clean and tidy. We were very pleased with all the little extra's which were also included such as; hand wash, washing liquid, tea towel, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, tissues etc these little extras were a very nice touch and made it feel more home from home. We have marked the hand rail as needing replacing as it was only held on with elastic and could become unsafe. Apart from this we would definitely recommend Toad Hall and look forward to booking with you again.
