I traveled to Strode House from West Sussex on a dismal Friday morning, but on arrival the day brightened. The setting in woods with a lake view was fabulous, even in February. The accommodation is incredibly spacious, comfortable and cosy with all amenities expected of a luxurious Country House. Plymouth was only a short drive away and a visit to the Plymouth Gin Distillery is a must and local beaches enchanting. This was probably the most relaxing long weekend away I have ever had and I will most certainly repeat, very soon.

Strode House has been refurbished to a very high standard, the new owners have taken great care to upgrade this wonderful Georgian house sympathetically and aesthetically using the large rooms and grand Georgian windows to create an impressive venue from which to explore the delights of South Devon. The house is set in lovely grounds with stunning views across open country side and in easy reach of the Coast , Dartmoor and historic Plymouth. The log fire, well equipped kitchen and the most sublimely comfortable beds made for a fabulous stay all members of our party, all agreed that a return visit was a must.
