A large imposing Victorian family home in the popular South Devon village of Thurlestone, this spacious property is in a fantastic coastal location with direct access to the golf course, Lonely Planet award winning South West Coast Path, beautiful sandy beaches and the sea only minutes from the doorstep.  With some of the best views in Thurlestone, Sunnybank offers plenty of space and excellent facilities, perfect for family holidays, reunions and get-togethers.

Steps from driveway up to the entrance conservatory. Large entrance hall. Lounge/dining roomwith  a comfortable sofa and chairs, 2 beanbag chairs, window seats looking to the beautiful sea views, large flatscreen TV and DVD and wireless Broadband. A quarter sized snooker/dining table. Well equipped kitchen/dining room with electric single oven, ceramic hob, oil-fired two oven Aga (optional), fridge, dishwasher, microwave and extendable dining table to seat twelve. Utility room with washing machine, second fridge, large chest freezer and sink. Boot room with tumble dryer, door leading to rear and outside tap for hosing down sandy dogs and children. Off the entrance hall is a second sitting room/drawing room with open fireplace, comfortable sofa and armchairs, window seat, flatscreen TV, DVD and iPod dock. Ground floor small double bedroom with 4ft 6in double bed,  wardrobe and chest of drawers, adjacent to a twin bedroom with 3ft single beds, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers,  with an option of a connecting door inbetween. Spacious ground floor shower room with heated towel rail, WC and basin.

First floor – the large landing area is given to a beautiful sofa to enjoy the stunning sea view, leading to small single bedroom with 3ft single bed, with space for a cot or put-you-up (provided), through which is accessed the Master bedroom, with superking 6ft bed, built in wardrobes in the dressing area, en suite bathroom, hand held shower basin and WC. A further double bedroomwith superking 6ft bed and en suite bathroom, bath and handheld shower over. Twin bedroomwith 3ft beds and built in wardrobe. Family bathroom with bath & handheld shower, heated towel rail, WC, basin and separate shower. PLEASE NOTE: This property will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests, including infants. 

Large mature gardens and trees surround the property, with terrace, charcoal BBQ and garden furniture.

I was very aware that we ought to leave the property spotless when we left. However it is a large property and would have taken me at least 4 hours to do this properly. We had to be out at 10:00 am so it was just not possible to do this properly. Also the mop provided for washing the floors was useless. All these are minor complaints as we loved the house, its position and thought it really well provided with equiptment.

Really sorry about the useless mop; we'll get it replaced. Delighted however that you all had an enjoyable holiday.

We love the house. We have been for a week of the Easter holidays for each of the last three years and we have already provisionally booked for 2018. The location is fantastic. We love the space and the house in generally very well appointed. Also, the kitchen is now very bright after the trees on that side have been cut down and replaced by a fence. However, there are a few niggles. The fact that we are not allowed to control the heating is irritating. Last where when the weather was bad and we were home on some afternoons we were cold and would have liked to have put the heating on. This year when the weather was good and we had to open the windows to control the heat (because the thermostat was locked behind a bizarre perspex box). We're sensible people and if allowed to control the heating I strongly believe we would be more comfortable (and happier) at either very little or no additional cost to the owner overall. Also, we would have appreciated a non-stick frying pan as we attempted pancakes and it did not go so well and some harder pillows. Many thanks, Alex Matthews

Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your return visit again. The new fence throws a lot more light into the kitchen, lovely isn't it. The owners are most grateful for all feedback to which end the saucepan has been replaced with a brand new non-stick pan and new harder pillows are in place. The elaborate new heating system is remotely operated and can be altered in a moment, via the housekeeper or now, via user-friendly heating controls which the owners have put in place, and thank you for your feedback.
