Sunnyside lives up to its name with a bright and welcoming interior that overlooks the village green in the delightful coastal village of East Prawle in South Devon. Recently totally refurbished to a very high standard, it’s a perfect venue for family and friend reunions or for smaller parties who love cliff top walks and cosy evenings around the fire. A large sitting room with a separate TV viewing area leads to a fabulous modern kitchen diner with all modern appliances as well as table seating for 10. There’s a games room with a table tennis/pool table and a sofa bed as well as a ground floor shower room. Upstairs four comfortably furnished bedrooms with three bathrooms complete the superior accommodation.
East Prawle has a relaxing atmosphere, there’s an eclectic pub, The Pigs Nose close by, a village store and cafe, easy access to the beautiful South West Coastal Path and a choice of beaches within a 3 mile radius. There are plenty of opportunities for great days out, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth are well worth a visit and a passenger ferry can take visitors from nearby East Portlemouth over to Salcombe.
Front porch opens into sitting room with two sofas surrounding a wood burner stove, books and radio/CD/blue tooth music system. On the other side of the staircase an L shaped sofa provides seating for the wall mounted TV. At rear of house there’s a large kitchen diner with 5 plate induction hob, twin ovens, two integrated fridges, separate freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Dining area with table and seating for 10. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer leads to a shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. Off the dining area there’s a games room/additional bedroom with a feature wall full size OS map of the surrounding coastline, pool/air hockey table, dart board and 4ft 6in sofa bed with luxury pocket sprung mattress. Rear door to garden off dining room.
First floor: Bedroom 1: Master bedroom with 5ft double, TV, en suite shower room and door to roof terrace with steps down to the garden patio. Bedroom 2: with 5ft double, TV and en suite shower room. Bedroom 3 with 4ft 6in double. Adjacent family bathroom with bath, shower over, hand basin and WC. Bedroom 4: Twin bedroom with two 3ft single beds (or can be made up as 6’ double) and TV.
From master bedroom door to large roof terrace with glass balustrade and views over the village and sea glimpses on a clear day. Steps down to sunny patio with garden furniture and arbour to decked area. Shed/summerhouse storage for loungers/deck chairs and mobile barbecue.

Sandy Mill Bay beach 3 miles at East Portlemouth and pedestrian ferry to Salcombe. Pigs Nose pub and Piglet café and shop (open March to end of October) next door. Farm shop at Stokenham 4 miles. Garage with good shop and leisure store East Charleton 5 miles. Kingsbridge with all facilities 9 miles. Dartmouth 15 miles.
Yes. The house was really excellent, and the location was good. The only drawback with the location esp when the weather is poor is it being quite remote. However that is of course the nature of this property, and overall we had a great holiday. Thanks.

Lovely property in a great location. We had a fantastic holiday. My only negative comment would be that the small double bedroom lacked storage. On saying that, would definitely go back again

Sunnyside is a spacious well appointed holiday home. We had a family get together, 10 of us plus toddler and dog. With 3 living areas it never felt crowded and with the well supplied kitchen we cooked some wonderful meals. Loved being on the village green with everything going on there. Handy village store and pub. Lots of long walks. Beautiful surrounding area. Jane the caretaker v helpful.
Really enjoyable holiday, weather was excellent, lots of places to visit and the support from the caretaker was excellent throughout our stay.
Sunnyside in East Prawle way exceeded all of our expectations - Everything inside is of the highest spec and you would be hard pushed to think of something that you needed that wasn't provided (Apart from champagne flutes). It was absolutely immaculate, not a spec of dust anywhere and it was obvious it had been refurbished very recently with barely any wear and tear. Jane who was responsible for looking after the house (From Mermaids Cleaning Company) is a local girl / lady who knows the area well and was more than happy to share her knowledge of the area as well as check we had everything we needed. We even got fresh daffodils and a card upon arrival, oh and some fresh milk too. Such a lovely touch. After arriving home we received a parcel, it was from Jane. One of our girls had left their favourite pair of socks and Jane had been kind enough to pop them in the post for us (without being asked). I seriously cannot rate her enough. Such fabulous, personal service. The beds are exceptionally comfortable with the finest, hotel quality Egyptian Cotton sheets and beautifully embroidered throws. Just lovely. There was plenty of space in the house and you could really make it a home for the week. Even the dog was provided for with a feed and water bowl, and mat. the kids loved the games room and it was close enough to our main social area (the kitchen) to keep an eye on them. It is a very well thought out property and I can say with some confidence that you would struggle not to enjoy a week or two here. It is a lovely walk down to some gorgeous shingle beaches and East Portlemouth is only a short drive away which offers a passenger ferry to Salcombe between 8am - 5pm in low season (probably longer hours in high season). We parked at Mill Bay and walked up to the ferry (tide allowing). I would warn newcomers to the area that the tide times change by up to an hour each day - don't get caught out like we did thinking it was going out when actually on its way in! You can google tide times for Mill Bay. All in all an exceptional property and very well organised agency and team.
Really lovely house finished to an exceptional standard. We had an amazing time with 4 adults and 4 children (and a doggy) and loved every second. Can't wait to come back!
