This comfortable converted barn, one of a small complex is set in soft, rolling countryside, close to the hamlet of South Allington and not far from the coast in beautiful south Devon. A short drive will get you to the coast and the beaches that border Start Bay with some stunning walks along the South West Coastal Path.  Swallows Rest barn, arranged in reverse level has a light and airy living room with exposed beams and the two bedrooms are arranged on the ground floor.  Outside there is a sunny front terrace overlooking the communal courtyard and behind there is a large shared grass lawn where the kids can play which borders a shallow stream. This is great walking country, for both walkers and their dogs, with lots of pretty villages and interesting towns to visit. A public bridleway through fields starts immediately behind the cottage complex. So pack up the car, bring the dog and take advantage of this good value holiday barn.

We enjoyed our stay. But from the information within the cottage description, it was not very clear as to the remoteness or accessibility of the cottage. From the photographs it looked like restaurants etc were close by and readily accessible. We appreciate it said within 2 miles etc, but did not anticipate the roads leading to them. Also no mention is made of no internet access and mention is made of intermittent signal. We had no signal at all despite the owner advising walk 100 metres up the hill behind the cottage. This was a major problem to us as we have elderly sick parents at home who we need contact with at all times. Had we been more aware of this then this would have influenced our decision to book this cottage. Going forward, this will certainly be a question we will need to clarify before booking. All I all, lovely cottage if u need to totally get away from it all and are prepared to navigate v narrow roads to get to various locations. Really think these points should be more strongly highlighted within the cottage description. Thank you.

The cottage was lovely and exceeded our expectations. It was just what we needed to be able to enjoy our week away. It was exceptionality clean and the facilities were of a very good standard. We will definitely book it again when we next visit Kingsbridge!
