The Bull Pen is an attractive property with lovely rural views, perfect for couples, a small family or two single friends holidaying together and looking for a peaceful location. This traditionally furnished cottage has a relaxing ambience and enjoys a beautiful location in the Devon countryside. There’s plenty of living space and the cosy lounge area has the addition of a wood burner which makes this a great choice for out-of-season breaks too. The well equipped accommodation has everything required for a really enjoyable holiday. Outside there is plenty of seating on the patio and courtyard along with access to the garden and pond area, where you will find additional seating in a relaxing and peaceful setting. The property is perfectly located in a beautiful part of Devon, and situated near the quiet and picturesque village of Colyton. The position makes it an ideal holiday base for exploring both Devon, Dorset and the famous Jurassic Coast. You will also find plenty of delightful local walks and bridleways on the doorstep too. The whole of the Jurassic Coast (including Seaton, Beer and Sidmouth), now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only about 15 minutes away by car. The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area. For those that enjoy a culinary treat, celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage shop and restaurant is a short drive away in the East Devon market town of Axminster.

Fantastic property surrounded with equally superb others. I felt that your brochure and online description of the properties was underselling these delightful, luxurious and romantic getaways. This was by far the most luxuriant of the cottages we have stayed in and the attention to detail and the friendliness of the owner was outstanding. After our disappointing experience at Aveton Gifford last year we nearly didn`t book with you again. However we thought we would try one more time, and we are extremely glad we did. The difference was amazing, totally romantic and luxuriant time we have just had is poles apart. It is a pity that more is not made of the walking and wildlife on its doorstep and also the unique position of being so close to so many beaches and seaside towns. The owner is more like a host at a country house week away and through her friendly advice, we were able to experience great eateries, hidden country houses and shopping destinations. We had contact with the owner from the time of booking with you and her attention to detail was incredible, down to enquiring which wine my wife liked. I haven't been able to select from the above but confirm that all were excellent! Tritchayne, as a holiday venue, has been and continues to be very sympathetically developed by Jane Urquhart, and if a quiet, countryside, dog friendly retreat is required one need not look further. Jane was always on hand and was a first class 'hostess'!
Jane was a wonderful and accommodating host. Spotlessly clean, and beautifully appointed The Bull Pen was very peaceful and perfectly sited for easy dog walking for us. All in all a lovely place to be and we will be back.
Our accomodation was excellent for our purpose .our dog had a wonderful time .the adjacant field where he could saftely run was brilliant for him .the cottage was a very comfortable home from home experience .i do hope this new owner gets the success she deserves .her only thoughts were for our comfort . The enclosed garden was an added bonus. We look forward to visiting again in 2017 .
