The Byre is a high quality, self contained barn conversion, all on one level, just five minutes drive from Lyme Regis and Charmouth with stunning rural views. One of three holiday properties at this location situated in the grounds of a non-working farm, on the Dorset/Devon border, very close to the beautiful Jurassic Coast. The farm is easily accessed at the end of a private driveway leading directly from the main road. The surrounding woods and farmland are home to a wide variety of wildlife including deer, badgers, foxes and buzzards. The pretty West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis and the coastal village of Charmouth are both just a couple of miles away and the attractive East Devon market town of Axminster, home to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's popular River Cottage Canteen, is about a 4 mile drive.

This property is ideally suited to those seeking a countryside location close to the sea, or for walkers who will be drawn to this wonderful location by the wealth of walking countryside in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. July 2017

We enjoyed our stay very much. The only downside is the difficulty of joining the A35 when leaving. The speed of the traffic is daunting and extreme care and agility is needed, particularly if turning right towards Raymond's Hill. This is because the road bends and restricts one's view of oncoming traffic. The view from The Byre across the valley is exceptionally tranquil. The occasional visits from wildlife are a pleasant diversion.

Very pleased with our choice of cottage and the owners made us very welcome, nothing too much trouble. The cottage has a wonderful view and is 'away from it all', quiet, yet only 5 mins drive from the coast. Would highly recommend.

The approach to the property was down a very steep drive, which we named the 'Cresta Run', and which was more precipitous than we had expected. When we reached the property it was delightful in every way, with panoramic views across the countryside and visited by all manner of birdlife, including a stunning pheasant and his harem. The accommodation was excellent, with a huge and very comfortable double bed, en suite facilities with additional shower room to 4* hotel standards, plus every requirement for self-catering. We received a very warm welcome from the owner
