Property: Self catering holiday cottage
We both enjoyed our stay immensely, John and Barbara were excellent hosts and the welcome package most enjoyable and very thoughtful. The only problem we encountered was the weak internet signal, but it was a blessing in disguise as we were "cut off" from the outside world and found it most relaxing. We dined at the Fleur de Lys and the meal and service was excellent and good value for money. We strongly advise to book a table as this is a popular venue. The Red Lion is another nearby pub/restaurant again excellent but strongly advised to book especially in the evening. The local village shop/post office has the basic necessities and Lymington is near-by. A really lovely weeks break in the New Forest. Thank you.
Really enjoyed our stay in The Lodge. Quality accommodation in a lovely setting close to everything. Wifi is accessible from the bedroom so not a problem for us. We hope to return.
A very enjoyable holiday made more so by the very helpful and hospitable owners.
I have given 5* on all above. Because its perfect in all those departments. But" I can't emphasis enough. THERE IS NO WIFI! THERE IS NO NETFLIX!
It was beautiful
Excellent property, excellent location and the owners so lovely
We had a lovely stay at the lodge over Christmas. Our hosts had made it very welcoming and had put up a Christmas tree and left us some lovely treats. The lodge was warm and comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and gave us the peaceful relaxing break we were looking for.
We enjoyed our weeks stay at this super peaceful country retreat. John and Barbara were great hosts providing an excellent arrival pack and ensuring that our stay was as pleasurable as possible. Many thanks, we will definitely come again.
Very much. Barbara and John wonderful hosts and especially helpful when we had a problem.
We very much enjoyed our stay and the only disappointment was as above. John and Barbara were very welcoming and The Lodge was perfect for us to unwind and was spotless on arrival and very homely. It was a lovely surprise to find some supplies for us which were most unexpected and please can you thank John and Barbara for these on our behalf.
Whilst the property is quite small it had everything we needed and we enjoyed the quality extras that were provided. Very relaxed and friendly owners. Our dog had full free run of their garden, which was lovely. We enjoyed the Lymington area and found many dog friendly pubs.
We enjoyed our stay at the lodge very much. It was lovely and clean and very well furnished. The garden was a delight. We loved watching the birds and wild life. A welcome pack was a real treat too. Barbara and John ( the owners) were very friendly and made us feel at home. I'm sure our dog enjoyed himself too and had lots of fuss. There are some lovely walks from the lodge, even to the pub for a nice meal. Dogs welcomed at lots of them. Will certainly go back to this place.
Well equipped, clean, high quality furnishings
fantastic, stunning, friendly, welcoming, immaculate. All these descriptions and more do not do this beautiful place justice. Cannot fault anything.
A warm welcome awaits those that stay at this understated property that made a perfect destination in the heart of the New Forest absolutely perfect for my husband, me and our dog Theo. The owners were very generous with their welcome package which included milk, chocolates, biscuits, wine and all your coffee, tea n sugar requirements and were helpful and friendly but not in anyway intrusive. The view into the lovely lush grounds of the property gave us added pleasure as we sat and relaxed in the very comfortable lounge area. This immaculately clean property offers everything you might need for a comfortable homely stay at an affordably realistic price.
