This picture postcard, cosy thatched 17th century cottage, is in the very heart of Thurlestone located on the high street and has been completely renovated, retaining its old world charm, but with every modern comfort. With the beach just 15 minutes walk, the pub and shop conveniently close, The Nook is an absolutely delightful cottage with its attractive furniture and furnishings, cosy but bright atmosphere and the advantage of a private garden. Please note: This property will accept a medium size dog, up to the size of a spaniel.
From the village lane the front door opens into a most attractive sitting room with log burner, sofas, flat screen TV and DVD player. Step up and doorway to fitted kitchen with electric hob, built-in electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and built in fridge with freezer compartment. Separate large fridge freezer. Extending from the kitchen the dining area, with table to seat 6, faces large French doors that overlook the garden and open to a paved terrace. Downstairs cloakroom with WC. Stairs to first floor: Bedroom 1: Double bedroom with 5ft bed and fitted wardrobe. A shower room is adjacent to this room with large walk in shower, basin and WC. Bedroom 2 with 4ft 6 inch double bed. Bedroom 3 with 3ft Bunk beds. Adjacent bathroom with small bath and shower over, basin and WC.
A patio area outside the kitchen has garden table and chairs and a path winds through shrubberies and opens out into an attractive lawned area that is totally private.
Permit available for Village Hall parking. On road parking possible where available.

Lovely week spent at The Nook, a lovely, comfortable and well equipped cottage.
Would be better, if we could recycle more. We took paper and cardboard home, as it did not feel right to put it in to and fill sites. As no opportunity to recycle except glass at the local hotel.
We had a wonderful holiday - The Nook exceeded our expectations and we hope to return. Thank you.

We found The Nook to be an exceptionally comfortable and well equipped cottage with obvious touches of a family home about it, making it feel very welcoming. The log burner in the evenings made it very cosy. We were so happy with it that we have booked again!
Beautiful cottage and excellent location
Very much. The cottage is lovely and in a great location for exploring the area. The pub and hotel were excellent and very dog friendly. The area is beautiful. We will definitely recommend it to our friends.
The only thing we noticed was that on our visit last year a bottle of wine was left to welcome us, apart from that the house was spotless and very homely which is why we rebooked.

Our holiday was perfect!!!! The cottage was beautiful the only enhancement would be to fit blackout blinds in the bedrooms, as the light flooding in the morning made for early rising! We will be definitely going back to this cottage again. We have only stayed with ToadHall once before (Baytree cottage) and the only small things that they offered which we missed with The Nook was a welcome tray of scones, jam & cream and a little goodie bag of treats for our dog. Nice touches, obviously these didn't impact the enjoyment of our holiday this time but we were a bit disappointed that we didn't get it here as we were looking forward to them.
We are delighted that you enjoyed the Nook so much. Each owner provides their own choice of welcome for their guests, however the owner apologised that it was missed this time, but look forward to welcoming you next time.

Delighted to add that the owner has now added blackout blinds to both rear facing bedrooms, and the master bedroom has thicker curtains (and no direct sunlight in the morning being north-facing) so this should now make for a relaxing holiday lie-in.

A lovely thatched cottage in the heart of the old village. Beautifully refurbished, well equipped and very clean. Parking difficult outside the cottage, but the owner has arranged for a permit to park at the nearby parish hall which is about a 3 minute walk. This worked well for us.
Superb cottage - lovely location, gorgeous decor and well thought through with everything you could need. A delight to stay in.
The Nook is a gorgeous cottage in a beautiful village. The information book requires more information. Where the nearest bottle bank is located (hotel car park), how to work the DVD machine (took us ages to work that out), Central heating instructions (at the moment it is set to 24hrs a day, we didn't want to mess with it and just turned it on and off when needed), instructions for rubbish disposal in general and the day the bin men arrive. Could do with a bit more cutlery. But in no way did any of this stop our enjoyment of this delightful cottage. Lovely linen on very comfortable bed. Lovely new towels, super garden, sofa etc etc. So nice we want to book again and again. And we will. Thank you.
Having used Toad Hall Cottages for many years now, a small discount for regular customers would be advantageous to us and the company by retaining returning customers.
