The Old Granary is a detached, converted stone barn, originally dating back to the late 1700’s, set in a peaceful and sunny position in the quiet hamlet of Easton, just inland from the Kingsbridge/Salcombe estuary. The property has recently been refurbished to a high standard and now includes a brand new kitchen, large open plan living room with magnificent exposed beams and galleried bedroom. Easton, with its farm, handful of houses and timeless atmosphere is tucked away amongst unspoilt countryside and pastureland. Wander along the lanes to the estuary foreshore where a wide variety of captivating wildlife can be seen around the tidal creeks. A perfect South Devon holiday cottage for those wishing to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this beautiful area, close to Batson Creek near Salcombe and the beaches and coastal attractions of this part of South Devon.

Door into kitchen/diner with underfloor heating and oak dining table to seat 5. Fully fitted cream kitchen with ceramic electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. Utility cupboard housing washing machine. Roomy sitting room with open fire and electric stove for summer use and high vaulted ceiling, two comfortable leather sofas and TV/DVD/video, stereo/CD player. Door out to the rear of the property. Single bedroom with 3ft bed and 14in TV and DVD. Twin bedroom with 3ft beds. Family shower room with corner shower, basin and WC. Mezzanine (but very private), double room overlooking the living room, with 5ft bed, wardrobe, dressing table and en-suite shower room with shower, basin and WC.

Short walk to parking area with room for a boat; gated access to the rear of the property with six steps set into a gentle bank down to a level path that leads around the side of the cottage to the front garden. Spacious level front lawn, bordered with hedges provided with garden table and chairs for 6 and a barbecue. Patio doors from the kitchen lead out to a small paved patio. This is a peaceful and sunny spot to enjoy the summer evenings.

The cottage was excellent and it was good to have the owners next door. Mrs Philcox came to greet us on our first day and the premises were spotless. Although I had taken all essentials with us, it was great to see that the owners had left salt, pepper, oil, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc plus extras like tea, coffee, sugar and milk and of course the flowers and flapjacks. We would possibly not book the cottage again, purely because of it's location. We normally like a place where we can go for a stroll and within walking distance of a pub/restaurant, but we booked too late for a choice. Having said that, we enjoyed our stay very much and could find no fault with the cottage

It is great to see you enjoyed your stay at this lovely cottage. Whilst there are no pubs or restaurants within the hamlet itself the property is perfectly positioned to access nearby Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Hope Cove which are all within a short drive.

A lovely small cottage with a sense of space and style - beautifully quiet and very private without being completely isolated. It is a very characterful building, tastefully and solidly furnished, with a pleasant garden and ample parking for a couple of cars if necessary. The layout of the accommodation was excellent for our group - a twin room and a single room downstairs, with a decent shower room adjacent, and a mezzanine bedroom above with its own small shower room; the mezzanine room, whilst open to the very high sitting room area, was nonetheless spacious and private enough. The kitchen/diner area is down a small flight of stairs from the sitting room, and perfectly satisfactory - well stocked and equipped. It took us a little while to work out how to control the (induction) hob - the controls were not intuitive to us and we found no instructions in the otherwise very well stocked file - and the toaster seemed to channel all 'cooked toast ions' straight to the nearby smoke alarm, so we always knew when the toast was ready ... it made us laugh! We really enjoyed our stay - the surrounding area is stunning and nearby Kingsbridge is a useful and very attractive market town - although it helped that we had a week of stunning weather, in April! There are loads of superb places to visit within easy (although sometimes very narrow!) reach, whatever one's taste for holiday activity or leisure. The owners are very close by and very helpful and friendly, but not at all intrusive; we only had to ask how to get the WiFi going, which turned out to be simply a matter of 'restarting' the router and then the internet signal was good. And on arrival we found some simply excellent flapjack waiting for us - cannot fault it! 100% recommended - but, a quiet plea, please don't come along with a massive car; each time we visit rural Devon we are amazed at the increasing number of people who think that huge cars are a good idea along these tiny lanes and in the beautiful small villages.

Fabulous property, beautifully positioned in tranquil village. A real home away from home.Owners were great, very helpful and the personal touch of flapjacks left for us on arrival was a most welcome surprise. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a base in South Devon.

A really lovely property set in a beautiful rural location, but still close to beaches, towns and other amenities. The standard of furnishing and equipment was excellent, and with young children we particularly appreciated the fabulous garden. The owners were very welcoming and helpful too (and the flapjack on arrival went down very well!).

Fantastic stay at The Old Granary at Easton. Lovely property with beautiful gardens, very well equipped with all the little touches included too...(hand soap, washing up liq, washing tabs, bin liners, food wrap, shopping bags, garden games to name a few....) The Owners were very welcoming too..... flowers and yummy home made flapjacks on arrival...would definitely recommend it to anyone and hope to return for another stay :-)
