Description
Manor Cottage is an exceptionally spacious and well-presented period house, with a large level garden and allocated off road parking for 2 cars. Nestled beneath the St Georges church in the popular village of Dittisham, Manor Cottage forms part of the original Manor House built in the mid 1800’s. This comfortably home from home has 4 bedrooms one of which has an ensuite bathroom, a good-sized kitchen dining room, an enormous and a conservatory.
Dittisham must be one of the prettiest waterside villages in Devon and has long been a mecca for those who enjoy sailing, boating and just generally messing about on the water. The village is lively, particularly during the summer months, with a village shop and two good pubs, one on the waterside, where the quay is a favourite spot for crabbing and a tug on a bell rope calls the ferry boatman to collect you to visit Greenway, once Agatha Christie’s holiday home, and now part of the National Trust.
The nearby naval town of Dartmouth and the bohemian town of Totnes are both nearby, easily reached by car or indeed by passenger ferry which runs up and down the River Dart during the summer months.
All in all, Manor Cottage provides a very comfortable base from which to enjoy and explore this wonderfully picturesque and unspoilt part of Devon.
Please note: If you have received the benefit of the reduced occupancy discount only the master bedroom and double bedroom will be available for your stay.

A destination for keen sailors, fishermen and artists alike, the tranquil location of Dittisham is hard to beat. This attractive riverside village nestles on the banks of the serene River Dart, and benefits from a couple of pubs and the wonderful waterside Anchor Stone Café.
The pontoon is a popular place for kids and families to relax and have a go at crabbing. This favourite holiday activity inevitably results in shrieks of delight as the cranky crustaceans are admired and compared whilst their captors try not to get nipped! Our top tip for crabbing success is to bait your line with little bits of bacon which crabs seem to find irresistible.
Directly opposite Dittisham, and just a short ferry ride across the river is Greenway House, once the holiday home of the famous crime author, Agatha Christie. The house along with its stunning river bank gardens are open to the public, and definitely worth a visit. Dogs are very welcome too, in the gardens on a short lead. This stretch of river has seen plenty of historic vessels pass by over the centuries, with tales from Viking long boats exploring the waters to American landing craft rolling past during the 2nd World War.
A variety of locally grown sweet plum, the 'Ditsum plum' was named after the village. You might spot some in the orchards over the summer months, or if you are lucky you might even get to taste some. They are sweet eating plums particularly good in jam – perfect for a Dittisham twist on a Devon cream tea!
The market town of Totnes and the waterfront town of Dartmouth are close to Dittisham, both with plentiful shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. The towns also have supermarkets, handy for stocking up on your weekly shop.
There are also numerous beaches close to Dittisham. We recommend driving the breathtaking coast road from Dartmouth towards Torcross and stop off at Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands on your way. You can also hire boats and have sailing lessons from the Dittisham’s pontoon, so whether you’re a complete beginner or an established sea dog you’re sure to be tempted onto the water during your holidays.
A holiday cottage in Dittisham makes a great base for exploring the beautiful River Dart and the stunning stretch of coastline around Dartmouth.
Two allocated spaces to the front of the cottage. Visitors spaces are available within Dittisham Court on a first come first served basis.
Included: Bed linen and towels (guests are required to provide their own beach towels). Water, electricity, oil central heating. Travel cot. One complimentary basket of logs is provided on arrival for stays between the beginning of October and end of April.
Internet and Telephone: Wi-Fi available free of charge. Regret, No landline telephone available. Mobile reception generally poor but please check with your provider prior to booking.
Pets: 2 well-behaved, small/medium dogs welcome. Pet charge £30 per week per dog.
Local Facilities: Small village shop, waterside café and two pubs within the village of Dittisham. The beautiful beaches of Blackpool Sands and Torcross are both within 20 minutes’ drive. Dartmouth with plenty of supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafes is just 4 miles away.
The Red Lion Inn
(Less than a mile)
(20)
A traditional pub in the heart of the village. Real Ales from Dorset and from the more local Dartmoor Brewery are available all year round, with additional guest ales in the summer months. Locally, seasonally sourced food is served where possible.
The Red Lion Inn The Level, Dittisham TQ6 0ES (T: 01803 722235)
I cannot believe these reviews. We were in Dittisham I believe the 4th of October. We went in the Red Lion after a steep walk and were rather tired .It was a joy just to see an inn and village shop and post office all in one.We ordered a drink and asked about food ,the young lady explained that the kitchen was closed but then the manager came out and offered to cook for us and we had sausage mash carrots and peas.Others then came in and had soup etc .We were very impressed at such kindness and good service, especially as yes they had the builders in.but no complaints from us .
October 2023
Really awful. The two ladies who run it are rude and arrogant. Don't expect a warm welcome. The toilets are filthy, the lounge is passible. Not recommended at all.
October 2023
Used takeaway dinner service ....prompt and efficient preparation of meals at short notice and tasty food
September 2023
A real community pub, post office and shop. Slightly eccentric but well worth a visit
May 2023
Heard some bad reviews about the Red Lion but found it to be a great pub with good food and an excellent well stocked shop. Also is a Post Office. Can collect warm croissants in the morning, have breakfast there, order bread.
August 2022
Not great. Dirty and not an option to eat in as menu so limited
August 2022
Fabulous quirky pub/shop/cafe at the top of the village. Staff really friendly and helpful, fabulous Dartmoor Legend ale. Well stocked shop - a bit of everything, and even hand-dived scallops in the freezer I noticed.
October 2021
Fantastic as a local pub, great food with lovely views on the terrace at the back …… but even better as a local shop …….everything you could need for self catering with fresh produce daily.
July 2021
Could not work our if closed or open? walked past one night and people sat inside, the next night door locked? A sign on the door may have been helpful.
June 2021
Very busy pub, but perfect for families with good play area. Food excellent
June 2021
Welcoming pub run by two ladies. Also the village shop. We strongly recommend that you support them during your stay. The view from their terrace is (almost) as good as the one from the Dower House!
June 2021
The heart of the village - pub/post office/shop all in one. As a result slightly feels like it's lost it's soul but nice to see everyone using the shop and post office side of the business and clearly a friendly local community. Nice enough views from the terrace, dogs welcome.
May 2021
The red lion is a unique place very friendly , and you can almost get anything you need here , and while you wait have a drink at the same time.
September 2019
Great they sell everything including beer bread milk eggs and a lot of other essentials and close when the pub closes. A very good idea as the nearest supermarket is about 3 miles away.
July 2019
lovely pub, lovely people, fantastic views
July 2018
Very good home-cooked food. Pleasant and attentive hosts.
May 2018
Fabulous, quirky, friendly all that a village pub and stores should be!
January 2018
Down to earth hub of the village Service always with a smile Don't expect luxury but it is amazing as not only a decent pub but post office and shop ad well As long as the pub is open it seems the shop is as well and it sells everything from newspapers & fresh croissants to cooked meats and household items
June 2017
Brilliant pub - has everything you could need in the shop, great little cafe and wonderful restaurant. Great for kids too.
June 2017
Very friendly and helpful staff. Has the advantage of an outside eating/drinking area. Reasonably well stocked shop/Post Office. Thoroughly recommend.

The Ferry Boat Inn
(Less than a mile)
(32)
Affectionately known as the FBI, this is a lively pub on the shore of the River Dart with panoramic river views. The fantastic setting, live bands, locally sourced menu and wide selection of real ales creates a great atmosphere.
The Ferry Boat Inn Manor St, Dittisham, Dartmouth, Devon TQ6 0EX (T: 01803 722368)
A proper Pub! Staff really friendly and the food was great. FBI beer tasty and the Old Rosie...........
April 2024
We enjoyed well filled baguettes for lunch and there was also a good selection of pizzas available. If you get the window seat it is a lovely spot. Don’t forget to ring the bell outside the pub vigorously when you require the ferry back to Dartmouth….depending on the wind direction the sound doesn’t always reach the ears of the ferry crew across the river at Greenway!
April 2024
Walked from the car park along the shore (only possible when tide is out). Jazz afternoon on outside and we spent sometime sitting on the pontoon listening.
September 2023
Had a couple of drinks in this busy pub.
August 2023
Fab pizzas and great atmosphere.
August 2023
Always a pleasure to be back at the FBI. Thank you to Slugger and the team for making our annual pilgrimage a treat again. Great atmosphere always, good food and a brilliant quiz too. Great place with extremely good staff. Rich & H

April 2023
Busy but good
September 2022
Great location. Expensive beer. Restricted to pizzas x5 days a week due to staff shortage.
August 2022
Fabulous but very busy. Only do pizza’s at the moment but they were very good. Had a table inside but got jostled a lot and very loud table next to us. Next time we took pizzas back to the garden at the cottage which everyone enjoyed a lot more
July 2022
Arrived on ferry from Greenway , only pizza available the lunchtime we went but they were delicious with good chips and nice beers. Friendly hosts
May 2022
lovely pub, staff very friendly even at the end of what must have been a very busy season! good selection of ales, fantastic views.
October 2021
Lovely and friendly pub . Great location. Very friendly staff and the pizzas were amazing. We ate in the pub and also had takeaway. Highly recommend.

Fantastic service, friendly staff and amazing pizza's in a stunning location. Hope to return next year!
June 2021
Friendly staff, lovely pizzas and great view!
June 2021
I was hungry. But the FBI pizza was the best I have ever had. Seriously good. And a pint of the FBI was perfect. As for the location, get there before the sun dips behind the hill and you are rewarded. Top pub.
April 2021
Lovely food and great place to watch world go buy. More restricted menu due to covid, but otherwise great.
September 2020
Great local pub in a stunning location. Always busy, good food at reasonable prices with a friendly, relaxed, buzzing atmosphere. Definitely book if you want food.
August 2019
Great food great views and friendly staff. It is very tidal here and some locals park their cars on the beach but it’s a race when the tide comes in. Good stopping off point after the return ferry trip from Dartmouth but book in advance if you want a table as they are very popular
July 2019
Lunchtime baguettes and fish and chips were tasty and good value.
July 2019
Fantastic food and great staff, ate in one evening but fully booked but another, had a take away! including plates which we returned, Great fun 1st Sunday of the month live band out side, with paella and bbq. we will be back.
June 2019
Good food and friendly staff.
April 2019
Friendly place. We had a midweek meal here for 4 people. It was nice and standard pub fare, but a bit expensive for what it was really.
April 2019
Went on a Thursday evening for the quiz night and food. Tasty food and friendly staff and fun quiz.
October 2018
A lovely atmosphere here and very friendly staff. We did not eat here although the food did look very good and not over-priced: best to book tables in advance. Fun to sit outside on the tables or the pontoon and just chat to visitors and locals.
July 2018
Simply brilliant! Food is hearty and delicious but booking advisable due to the limited number of tables. The beer and cider on offer go down a treat and Thursday's quiz night is great fun! Alternatively just sit outside with a good pint and watch the world go by! Dog and child friendly too !
October 2017
Great location right on quayside Buzzy and full of character serving locals and holidaymakers needs Good food unpretentous menu reasonably priced. We ate there twice during the week and enjoyed on each occasion
June 2017
Have always enjoyed visiting the FBI - very friendly staff and the food is amazing. Great selection of beers and what a view from the window!
June 2017
Lovely old pub with great views but the drinks are pricey and we couldn't book for a meal.

Anchorstone Café - Dittisham
(Less than a mile)
(31)
Open for the summer season only from mid-March until the end of September this riverside café is a real gem, but hugely popular so make sure you book ahead. Delicious seafood lunches including crab, lobster, mussels and oysters are the speciality, all in a beautiful setting.
The Anchorstone Café Manor Street, Dittisham TQ6 0EX (T: 01803 722365)
Early lunch, didn't book, large group of 11, they were very good at getting us sat together and with a river view. Drinks arrived quickly, food choices great for fish eaters but not much else. Food slow to arrive but everyone loved it! Great service and staff made it easy to split bill to pay for what we each had.
May 2024
Had a lovely lunch outside on the terrace overlooking the river. Weather was really good too which probably helped!
September 2023
Fantastic seafood and lovely location on the river but if you drive down you can only do this at low tide
July 2023
An absolute must for seafood and fish lovers. Amazing views to go along with the fabulous food and drink. Very dog friendly. Booking essential in season!!
May 2023
Great food at the Anchorstone would recommend - you need to book well in advance
May 2023
Excellent. Our favourite restaurant in Devon. Pity it is closed Tuesday & Wednesday.
April 2023
Fabulous
September 2022
Once we managed to get a table (only one day I’m entire week) it was fabulous! But closed two days of week Tues and Weds
August 2022
Fantastic lunch and great service
July 2022
The Anchorstone Cafe had such good reviews and our visit didn’t disappoint. We had a table directly overlooking the pontoon at Dittisham which was very busy and great fun to watch whilst dining. Prawns and scallops were delicious and that was just the starters, they serve amazing desserts too. Service was excellent. A must visit.
July 2022
Didn’t get chance to eat here, they make it difficult to book or look at a menu. Chain across the entrance, very unwelcoming, had to shout up to ask about booking. Didn’t bother in the end
July 2022
To call Anchorstone Cafe a "cafe' is absurd. A wonderful fish restaurant with excellent food and service.
May 2022
Didn’t use as Just way too expensive for a takeaway therefore unfair to rate in stars below as didn’t use premises
April 2022
Amazing lunches as always, wonderful menu, amazing staff and stunning location. Just sad to see Will and Jasmine leave.
September 2021
Almost don’t want to submit a review so we can keep Anchorstone a secret (however anyone who is in the know, is in the know) ………6 visits here during our recent trip to Devon and we’d have gone every day if we could have. I think that says it all. The Anchorstone & the tram there never ever disappoints!
July 2021
Food was lovely. It is difficult to book though, but highly recommended.
June 2021
A fantastic place for lunch during covid. Completely covered and most welcoming. Book to avoid disappointment!
May 2021
Hired the Lugger for a couple of hours. Lee was a star getting us sorted and I cannot recommend the location enough. Glorious. Professional set up. Walk around from the car park if driving to Dittisham and allow lots of time either side to enjoy the location and FBI...
April 2021
Fantastic food
October 2020
We did get take away from here, but we went in August and they didnt have a booking free until September! So if you do plan to go you need to book well in advance. Take away we did get was fine and service friendly.
September 2020
Excellent as before
August 2020
Excellent for coffee and cake although sadly they were fully booked all week for lunch so I would advise booking well in advance at peak season
August 2019
Unless you want to eat lunch at 1230 its virtually impossible to plan to eat here Putting your name on a list with a hope they call you when they have a table free is not ideal when trying to feed yourselves or your family
April 2019
Excellent. Pity it closed after our second day there.
October 2018
Always amazing, wonderful fresh fish and great staff. Definitely recommend.
September 2018
we have been every year for 7 years! we love the food, it never fails to please. staff polite and have the courtesy to tell you if there is a wait. it is always worth booking if you can but they only take bookings for 12.00, they wont guarantee anything after that
July 2018
We were very lucky in that we did not have to wait too long for a table: I would advise you to make a reservation in advance though as it is so popular. The food and service were excellent and one would be hard-pressed to find fault. We had a lovely table on the outside balcony so were able to enjoy the lovely views. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant is you have a liking for freshly-caught fish: the burger apparently is excellent too!
July 2018
Brilliant situation overlooking the water.. Food was a delight. Good coffee. Will certainly re-visit. Need to book. Very popular.
May 2018
Best food. .5 stars. You will always return there, cooking is fantastic.
October 2017
Love love love this place food amazing, hosting and service excellent and very friendly, location is just beautiful. We travel miles out of our way to visit the Anchor stone Cafe. Frequent diners.
May 2017
What an absolute gem this is. Lovely coffee and cakes and wonderful seafood lunches. Great for kids & you can take dogs in the outside area.

We loved the walk around the vineyards, which are set in beautiful countryside. The staff were friendly and helpful and the wine and cheese tasting were excellent. We had our dogs with us, and they were also made very welcome! A perfect location and experience - highly recommended!
April 2019
A beautiful location with delicious looking food - unfortunately had 3 children in tow so totally unsuitable for us! A touch of luxury that I would like to visit again minus the offspring!

August 2022
Dissapointed as they no longer offer the sail boat which is what I wanted, Suggest it is removed from the photo,as it is mis-leading.

Greenway House
(Less than a mile)
(22)
Fabulous property, so glad we explored the house and garden. Loved the little ferry from Dittisham too.
May 2024
The House and Gardens and their location are outstanding. And the journey by ferry from Dartmouth just adds to the overall experience.
October 2023
Wonderful day out. Went by ferry from Dartmouth, worth doing this rather than driving and having to book a parking space. Quite a trek from the house down to the boathouse, but worth it - a very knowledge guide. In fact, knowledgeable guides in the main house too. We wanted to stay and have lunch but it was very busy, all tables full and on the day we went, the card machine was playing up, resulting in a 40 minutes queue to order food. Hence we took the ferry back to Dartmouth and had a late lunch there. Still worth visiting.
September 2023
Loved this house. Would loved to have been a house guest 'back in the day'.
August 2023
Well worth a visit and then walking to Dartmouth - was a great day out
May 2023
I super property to visit. Travelled by passenger ferry from Dittisham. Lovely walks around the garden as well as a very interesting house.
September 2022
Agatha Christie's holiday home. Easy to access on the boat. Excellent place to visit and very interesting. Nice walk around the property to the boat house.
August 2022
A really interesting place to visit, beautiful gardens. Thoroughly recommend visiting via boat along the river Dart.
August 2022
Would recommend a visit if you’re a big fan of Agatha Christie. Loved walking through the house and listening to the old fashioned music, was waiting for Miss Marple or Poirot to walk in. Recommend booking car space before going. It’s a long walk to entrance so need to think about mobility issues. But we were able to drop passengers off and go back to space. Lovely day out
June 2022
Wonderful NT property. So lovely to be able to touch items too! Beautiful grounds. Great trip on the boat from Dartmouth.
April 2022
very interesting house and garden. I felt the experience would have been improved with more information boards around the property. I recommend reading a book about the house and Agatha Christie/her family before you visit. Loved getting there on the ferry from Dittisham.
October 2021
lovely house and gardens down to the boat house, nice touch are the deck chairs on the lawn, lovely patio area for refreshments, approached on foot from Kingswear its a lovely walk through Longwood
September 2021
One of our most enjoyable days in South Devon: do take the ferry from Dartmouth, it's a lovely trip . The gardens are wonderful and the house enjoyable but sadly little information about the history of the house is given and there is no detail about the rooms one can visit.
September 2021
A lovely place to visit, enjoyed the house history and the fabulous gardens overlooking the water. Nice addition to access over the water from Dittisham but note that the water taxi stops before the house closes.
July 2021
Visited greenway house via the ferry , a very pleasurable day out
June 2021
Stunning house and fabulous gardens. The most beautiful views to the Dart. We caught the ferry from Dittisham which was amazingly convenient and a lovely way to arrive.
May 2021
Enjoyed arriving by boat and walking round the grounds, and then back on the Dart trail to Kingswear. Excellent coffee, and NT shop staff were very helpful. Didn't find the house as interesting as we imagined.
September 2020
A lovely place giving a real feel of the life of its previous owner. One of my favourite NT places. Can be reached by ferry or train. Makes a peaceful and relaxed day out in any weather.
August 2019
Lovely boat trip to this property, fairly steep climb up but there is a car available to drive you up there should you need it. Cafe very slow to serve and the queues were outside the restaurant .....so go in good weather Property and gardens a little disappointing.
June 2019
What an amazing place, easy to get to from Dittisham. The nicest National Trust place we have visited! Pop down to the boat house to meet the bank voles!
August 2018
One of the best NT houses we have visited. Absence of roped of areas in the rooms made it possible to immerse oneself in Agatha Christie's world
May 2018
Excellent and dogs welcomed into the garden as well. Beautiful house and gardens and location stunning. Enjoyed by all ages.

We had a fantastic time on the kayaks and Mark was very helpful.
August 2022
Easy booking and good guidance for paddle to the pub.
April 2022
A wonderful stretch of water to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed our two hours up Bow Creek.
August 2021
Great friendly staff who were very helpful to inexperienced Kayakers! We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the River Dart and would definitely return should we be lucky enough to visit again. Lovely views!
July 2021
Highly recommend Totnes Kayaks. Equipment was top class and they couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy with our hire. Great recommendations of where to kayak, what time and day to make the most of the tides
August 2019
Very helpful staff - both friendly and informative. A very pleasant afternoon spent - wish we'd had time to do it again.

Broadsands Beach
(3 miles)
In between Brixham and Paignton, this long, sandy beach is a popular spot with families, thanks to its sheltered waters, year-round facilities and easy parking. The Blue Flag beach is perfect for making sandcastles and searching for wildlife in the rockpools. There are toilets, and two places to get ice creams, coffees and soft drinks. What’s more, the car park is right by the beach, so there’s no need to lug your provisions a long way. Behind the pretty row of colourful beach huts, there’s a large grassy area, so don’t forget to pack a ball or rounders bat to keep the whole family entertained. Broadsands Beach is a popular dog walking spot throughout autumn and winter, but there is a seasonal dog ban during the summer months (1st May - 30th September).
Elberry Cove
(3 miles)
(1)
Far from the bustling crowds of Paignton and Brixham’s bigger beaches, this small pebbly cove is a truly relaxing spot. The calm waters are great for swimming and are said to have been one of Agatha Christie’s favourite bathing spots. Elberry Cove even features in one of her crime thriller novels, The ABC Murders. This picture-perfect cove, surrounded by sloping wooded hillsides and crystal clear water, can only be accessed by the coast path, with the nearest carpark at Broadsands Beach. From here, it is only a 10 - 15 minute walk, but make sure to pack a picnic or grab a bite to eat at Broadsands Beach before you set off, as there aren’t any facilities at here. Dogs are welcome on the beach throughout the year.
Lovely quieter beach, dog and BBQ friendly. We had teens that hired kayaks from nearby Broadsands beach and paddled around the coast to meet us. Very accomodating kayak hire and not too expensive.

Churston Cove
(4 miles)
If you’re willing to venture off the beaten track, you’ll discover one of Brixham’s hidden gems, Churston Cove. Surrounded by sloping wooded hillsides, this beautiful little cove isn’t the easiest to get to, which makes it an idyllic, peaceful place to while away the day. The crystal clear water is safe for kids to paddle and play in, and is a popular swimming spot. Parking is available at Freshwater carpark, a 15-minute walk away. There are no toilet facilities or cafes, and the beach is accessed via a long, steep path, which is uneven in places, but this beautiful little cove is worth the effort. Churston Cove is dog-friendly all year round.
Fishcombe Cove
(4 miles)
(1)
Take the coast path from Brixham and escape the crowds at Fishcombe Cove, a peaceful shingle cove, protected on all sides by tall red cliffs. Access to this little cove isn’t easy, via a steep path from Freshwater carpark, but it is definitely worth the effort. The clear, blue sea is sheltered and calm, making it a favourite with swimmers and kayakers. Fishcombe Cove is also a popular place for boats and yachts to moor up and make the most of the beautiful water. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a seal popping its head up to say hello. There is a café and toilets here, but both are only open during the summer months. Fishcombe Cove is dog-friendly all year round.
A lovely little cove perfect to have a dip in the ocean. Be warned though that there is a steep downward hill to get to it and it is a rocky beach so there is plenty of slippery seaweed around. It is nice and sheltered and wasn't too busy either so a great place to get your feet wet or to go for a swim. Would recommend :-)
August 2023
St Mary's Bay
(5 miles)
The decent to St Mary’s Bay is one of the best views in Brixham, with panoramic views of the English Riviera. This beautiful, unspoilt beach has a carpark nearby, but we recommend walking there to make the most of the stunning surroundings. The sandy and shingle beach is sheltered by steep cliffs on either side, which means the decent to the beach isn’t easy, especially for those with mobility disabilities. There are no facilities at the beach, but visitors can take the coast path north to Berry Head Nature Reserve, where there is a great café and toilets, as well as stunning coastal views. Dogs are welcome all year, making St Mary’s Bay a great place to take a well-earned rest on your dog walk.
May 2024
Good location, close to visitor attractions or great garden if you want to make the most of what the property has to offer.
April 2024
We loved the style, spaciousness and location of the property and had a very happy stay there. Thank you!
September 2023
I’ve always found the cottage very clean (other than the oven issue mentioned above) However this time there were cobwebs and it was quite dusty. The key safe was also jammed and the caretaker had to come out and give us her set as she was unable to open it either. We felt very guilty because bad traffic meant it was 9 pm when we arrived. The caretaker is lovely though and really helpful.
August 2022
Enjoyed the stay and very good location however needed to be refreshed a little.
April 2022
An excellent, spacious house in a superb location. We had a great holiday, thank you. One small point was that when we arrived on 1st April (a very cold day) the central heating and hot water were switched off - it was like walking into a fridge! However, this did not spoil anything, the house is top notch! Thoroughly recommended.
September 2021
We've had a wonderful time - not long enough!! Thank you!
September 2021
We had a most enjoyable stay in this lovely property which exceeded our expectations. The beds were extremely comfortable with good bed linen. The location was lovely in a beautiful part of Devon

June 2021
Such a lovely house in a fantastic spot. Fab beach weather unexpected + England/Germany 2-0 - what more could we ask for? Just perfect, comfy stay with great friends.
June 2021
We loved Dittisham and the area surrounding it. The constant ferries were a great way to get about and the local pubs excellent and welcoming. House and garden lovely too, thank you!
June 2021
Fantastic service from Toad Hall Cottages during uncertain times which led to multiple cancellations / re-bookings. Manor Cottage was perfect, the photos don't do it justice! We will be back.
October 2020
A lovely cottage in such a beautiful village and area. A treat to find a bottle of white wine and also milk in the fridge. And a friendly, helpful keyholder.
September 2020
A very enjoyable stay helped by the well-located, well-equipped house and the fantastic weather. We got quite blasé about navigating all the narrow lanes. Perfect!
September 2020
A very welcome break in your lovely house. Love this part of Devon. Thank you.
September 2020
We did enjoy our stay and overall the cottage was lovely but considering the amount we paid, the snags getting in and then light bulbs and cleanliness were not ideal.
We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay, thank you for the comments which we have passed onto the owners who are thankful for the constructive comments. They have also ordered lots of replacement and spare light bulbs. We look forward to welcoming you back to Manor Cottage again soon.

Lovely stay & great cottage. Dittisham was lovely & enjoyed eating at all the establishments. Went paddleboarding in the estuary. We also enjoyed the surrounding countryside as we went on a few runs! Such beautiful views. Thanks
August 2020
All of us loved Manor Cottage - the house, the garden and location - 2 minutes to the shop, 5 minutes to the river. Beds were also very comfortable. Thank you.
August 2020
Such a vibrant and lovely setting - kids loved the post office being so close (they couldn't keep their mitts off the sweets in it!). The garden served me a great G&T spot, a lovely place to kick back and relax in the Devonshire air! The holilday could only be described as fantabidoso! Thanks alot!
August 2020
Lovely holiday, thank you. Just one small detail: we were given an incorrect key safe code for the front door key. Luckily we bumped into the caretaker of the property who was able to help us gain access.
We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Manor Cottage. Apologies that you were given the incorrect key safe code but glad the caretaker was able to help. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

August 2013
Would have been helpful to have the cottage name on its door as we had a small problem locating exact cottage!
We are glad you enjoyed your holiday at Manor Cottage. We are pleased to confirm there is now a slate sign outside the front door to help guests on arrival. We look forward to welcoming you back to Manor Cottage again soon.

Rich & H
June 2023
Great pub by the water
May 2023
Very good Pub, food also v.good
September 2021
Lucky to get seat in window with fabulous view over the river. Staff friendly and welcoming, service very good, food was delicious.
June 2021

September 2023
A culinary delight!
July 2023
Absolutely Fabulous
September 2022
We spent a very enjoyable afternoon on the 'self guided tasting' eating good cheese and tasting lovely wines. It was all rounded off by a good walk in glorious countryside and a nice coffee. Next time we will be more organised and book in plenty of time for the 'proper' tour. Thank you
September 2021
Despite the Covid restrictions, we enjoyed a wonderful wine and cheese tasting experience. We intend to return to explore the estate, vineyards and shop.

Beautiful location. Nice to walk through vineyard and along the river. Enjoyed a takeaway meal from the restaurant at the picnic tables overlooking the river.
September 2020
We loved the walk around the vineyards, which are set in beautiful countryside. The staff were friendly and helpful and the wine and cheese tasting were excellent. We had our dogs with us, and they were also made very welcome! A perfect location and experience - highly recommended!
April 2019
A beautiful location with delicious looking food - unfortunately had 3 children in tow so totally unsuitable for us! A touch of luxury that I would like to visit again minus the offspring!

You should remove the photo of a sailing day-boat, as it is no longer offerred which was a disapointment to me as I intended to use it
