Pick Up the Keys to your Farmhouse Retreat

* New for 2018 *

Surrounded by idyllic South Hams countryside and just outside the thatched-roofed village of South Milton lies Higher Sutton, a gorgeous Grade 2 listed farmhouse dating back to the early 17th century.

This handsome property has been tastefully updated with much of its original character lovingly maintained, such as its rustic beams and stone fireplaces. Downstairs, a spacious lounge area is complimented by deep, inviting sofas and a wood burning stove, the perfect place to relax after your day out exploring the beautiful South Devon coast.

A modern open-plan kitchen, complete with Aga, provides a wonderful focal point where the whole family can gather to enjoy an early morning breakfast or an unhurried supper. Wisteria-draped French doors lead out onto a sunny patio area where you can sit back, relax and just take it all in.

Upstairs, you’ll find five delightfully presented bedrooms, each with its own character and view of the rolling South Devonshire hills and coastal pastures.

The farmhouse is rounded by a lovely wildflower garden and flanked by a ‘play’ barn. Complete with table tennis, pool table and dart board, it’s an ideal hangout for the kids. It’s also one of our many dog-friendly holiday cottages so you can bring along your waggy-tailed chum.

From Higher Sutton, a path leads directly down to dog-friendly South Milton Sands and the popular Beachhouse restaurant. Featured in The Times’ 30 Best Restaurants by the Sea, the quirky beachside shack serves delicious breakfasts and fresh seafood against the backdrop of Thurlestone Rock.

About South Milton…

Tucked away in the gorgeous South Devon countryside is the village of South Milton, adored for its thatched-roofed cottages and pretty tea gardens. The parish includes the hamlets of Upton and Sutton, and stretches east to the golden sands of South Milton beach. Not far from the village is South Milton Ley, a unique freshwater reed-bed in a shallow coastal river valley. The ley is a roost site for a variety of migrating birds, including the yellow wagtail and the rarely seen least sandpiper.
