Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival will soon be upon us and this year promises to be an even bigger bundle of family fun in celebration of its 70th year.

Expect a packed schedule right from the get-go on both land and water with roaring powerboat rides and Tano Taiko drummers helping to open this grand old affair on the Dorset coast.

From then on in there will be *deep breath* beach sports, water polo, a family dog show, the Longmoor Gardens torchlight procession, gospel and rock choir singing, scavenger hunts, a quiz night, a shopfront odd object competition and town trail, candles on the river at Jericho Bridge, a junior town crier competition, pavement art, Lego building challenges, taekwondo displays, open air cinema at Lister Gardens, a town band performance at Marine Parade Shelters, fossil polishing, egg catching, bear boat racing, a well-being tent, fishing boat rides, a teddy bears’ picnic and parachute jump, a sizzling barbecue, a dazzling firework display on The Cobb, summer fete games, recycled sea monsters, more live music, a family disco at the Marine Theatre, a samba band, a grand carnival procession, Newfoundland rescue dog demonstrations, a duck race from Windsor Terrace, all this and more…and that’s not forgetting the seven days of sailing events!

For more information, visit the Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival website where you can download a programme with a full list of all this year’s events.

“We hope that you will be able to enjoy the familiar and some new events during the week as a family in our lovely town and at the same time raise money for our local good causes” – The Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Committee

“As proud supporters, all at Toad Hall Cottages would like to wish everyone a fantastic Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Week, and some hearty congratulations on reaching your 70th year in style.”
