A Riverside Gem in the Heart of Cornwall

Deep in the heart of Cornwall, only a squirrel’s scamper away from the tranquil banks of the River Loveny, lies Treverbyn Vean Lodge.

Surrounded by impressive landscaped gardens and ancient woodland, the lodge is full of distinguishing features, from its tudor arched doorways and open beamed ceilings to its Gothic windows and mantled cornicing – bespoke signatures of an eminent past and premise for its Grade II listed status.

The lodge sleeps up to eight guests, however larger groups can be accommodated with rooms available at the handsomely converted and self-contained Treverbyn Vean Stables, which sits adjacent amid the splendid half-acre gardens and can house a further six visitors. Both dwellings are extremely characterful and boast exceptional views of the meticulously maintained grounds, which are patrolled by the garden’s resident peacock, Percy!

Tucked away in the beautiful Cornish countryside, you’ll only find interruption in birdsong, the gentle burble of the waterway, the occasional woodpecker’s drum and the distant owl hoot on a quiet, starry night. With private access to the river, why not enjoy a spot of trout fishing and a picnic on the riverbank, whiling away the hours in the dappled light on a sunny afternoon.

Close by is the charming village of St Neot where every year on Oak Apple Day, an oak branch is mounted on the top of the church tower to symbolise the village’s historical allegiance to the Royalists during the English Civil War. You’ll also be close to the wilds of Bodmin Moor and all its spectacular trails.

Encompassed by Cornwall’s gorgeous beaches, coastal walks and delightful fishing villages, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning day trips and outings, and all with the added convenience of the county’s main artery road, which is within easy reach.

Travel further afield and you’ll find the Eden Project’s extraordinary rainforest biomes and be captivated by the Lost Gardens of Heligan – two in a long list of wonderful attractions in Cornwall.
