Treverbyn Vean Lodge is an enchanting Grade II listed detached holiday house with a number of original features, including Gothic windows, arched doorways and beamed ceilings, it is surrounded by almost one acre of beautiful grounds with a half acre of garden and private access to the River Loveny, where guests can try their hand at fishing.  You are often greeted by the local peacock Percy who has made this garden his home. The character filled property is spacious and comfortable with woodburners in the living and dining rooms and newly refurbished bathroom facilities, so it is perfect for a family get-away. The house is private with views of the pretty Cornish countryside, yet conveniently located near the main artery road that links Devon and Cornwall, which allows easy access to all the delights that these popular holiday destinations have to offer. The picturesque fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey as well as the Eden Project and the stunning North coast of Cornwall, are only some of the popular attractions guests can enjoy, and all within easy reach from the property. A delicous welcome pack awaits your arrival, including homemade cake!

You can let The Lodge separately or in conjunction with The Stable next door, which sleeps a total of 14 combined.

Living room with two sofas, two armchairs, woodburner, flat screen interactive TV . Dining roomwith woodburner, large table to seats eight, stereo/CD player and a selection of books. Kitchen well equipped, with electric cooker, microwave and fridge. Utility room accessed from the main hallway housing a washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and WC with hand basin. Ground floor Bedroom 1 with 4ft 6in double bed and en-suite shower room (shower area, hand basin and WC). Stairs up to the first floor. Bedroom 2 with 4ft 6in double bed and hand basin. Bedroom 3 with 4ft 6in double bed and hand basin. Bedroom 4 with two 3ft single beds and hand basin. Family bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Large front garden that leads down to the private river bank, with ample garden furniture, barbecue and summer house. Shared with The Stable next door.

Ample parking for 2 cars along private gravel driveway. If let along with The Stable, there is space for 4 cars. Additional parking also available just outside the garden area (private).

  • Local Facilities: Local village pub with regular live music (London Inn) in St Neot, 2 miles. Local shop at Dobwalls, 2 miles. Magic Wood Climbing Centre at Woodlands Farm, quarter of a mile. Carnglaze Caverns, less than a mile. Supermarket (Morrisons), restaurants, take-aways and pubs in Liskeard, 10 minutes drive. Looe with more pubs, restaurants, cafes and beach, 10 miles. Cycle trails at Cardinham Woods (4 miles) and Lanhydrock (6 miles). Polperro 14 miles. North coast of Cornwall, approximately 1 hour drive.

Please note: Neither the garden nor the river is enclosed, so children will require supervision. A fishing license is required and can be purchased online via the Environment Agency or from the Liskeard Post Office.

The cottage was beautiful and the owner was wonderful. The extra touches were really appreciated - being able to make a cup of tea on arrival was just heaven after hours of sitting on the M5! Thank you for a lovely holiday

We had a lovely stay at Treverbyn Vean Lodge. It was chilly (but what else do you expect in December!), but once the wood-burners kicked in it was quite cosy. The Lodge is so full of character - we loved it! The sitting room is a really lovely space. Percy the peacock popped round for seed on a regular basis which was fun. Kath the owner was a life-saver when our car broke down. We could not ask for more.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had comfor table nights. Our girls enjoyed the garden especially playing hide and seek and football! Even though the river not having facing on it really worried me. We felt at home in this house. Thank you Treverbyn big thumbs up!!!

Excellent facilities, good to have plenty of plates and mugs - don't need to constantly was up !! Lots of extra cleaning materials left which was much appreciated especially when cooking fresh caught fish from Polperro ! Great cake on arrival.

Brilliant cottage, fantastic shower in bathroom and excellent wet room in ground floor bedroom. The decor and furnishing consistent and in keeping with the character of the cottage. Excellent access to main routes for getting around Cornwall. Utility room and recycling provision very good- everything we could have possibly needed including dishwasher tablets etc. and very thoughtful to provide milk & laundry supplies. We really appreciated the owner visiting to ensure we had settled in. Our only minor issues were the remote location of the dishwasher in the utility room and we were unaware of the bin collection day (Friday).
