A Town Fit For A Prince

We’ve just heard that Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting the idyllic boating town of Salcombe on the 11th of July. We’re all very excited that the Prince of Wales will be gracing the streets of this beautiful little mecca for sailing enthusiasts on the coast of the magnificent South Hams. If you are looking to get a glimpse of the Prince as he meanders through the winding streets or just a relaxed holiday surrounded by superb walks and within easy reach of local sandy beaches and award winning restaurants, we’ve still got a few properties available in the area:

Boatman’s Cottage, Salcombe: Situated just a few steps from the waterfront and on the route the Prince will actually take is ideally placed to take advantage of the wonderful golden sandy beaches on both sides of the estuary, as well as the many pubs, restaurants and interesting shops in this bustling seaside town. The cottage itself is warm, welcoming and full of character with the added benefit of a small outside patio from where you can watch the world go by as you relax in the sun.

Marine Cottage, Salcombe: A handsome and exceedingly comfortable, detached home is situated in a quiet part of the town, 500 yards up from the old part of Salcombe. Gleaming polished pine floors, attractive rugs, superb bed linen, fine soft furnishings and the stunning estuary views combine to make this a very comfortable and covenient house in the centre of Salcombe.

Little Haven, East Portlemouth: Little Haven is a delightful, detached cottage set in a stunning location right on the water’s edge down a quiet lane that meanders along the Salcombe estuary towards South Pool. Under a mile from the passenger ferry that plies the estuary over to bustling Salcombe, this really is a peaceful “Little Haven”. Here it is possible to escape the crowds; enjoy the fabulous coastal and estuary walks; relax on the nearby sandy beaches; watch the wildlife of the foreshore; launch the provided kayaks and explore the beautiful estuary; or simply drink in the dreamy views from the waterside terrace.

Broadmoor Farm, Malborough: Tucked away down a quiet lane, surrounded by rolling countryside but just a short drive from Salcombe. Arranged in a reverse, level there is a large living area with exposed beams and a feature gas stove and on the lower floor there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Guests can use a footpath which meanders down to the popular village of Hope Cove to visit the Hope and Anchor pub and the two sandy beaches.

Sea Lavender, South Milton: If you are looking to be right on the beach then Sea Lavender is superbly situated between Hope Cove and Thurlestone Sands. The South West coastal path runs through the grounds and the property is ideal for couples or families of all ages. Walkers, windsurfers, dog owners, divers, golfers and children will revel in this marvellous location at any time of the year. The property offers spectacular views and enjoys the communal use of an indoor heated swimming pool, games room and lawned garden.
