Description

Little Haven is a delightful, detached cottage set in a stunning location right on the water’s edge down a quiet single track lane that meanders along the Salcombe estuary towards South Pool. Under a mile from the passenger ferry that plies the estuary over to bustling Salcombe, this really is a peaceful “Little Haven”. Here it is possible to escape the crowds; enjoy the fabulous coastal and estuary walks; relax on the nearby sandy beaches; watch the wildlife of the foreshore; launch the provided kayaks and explore the beautiful estuary; or simply drink in the dreamy views from the waterside terrace. This charming, very comfortable cottage is all on one level and is a must for those who love the outdoor life that can be enjoyed from this exceptional waterside location.

“A great week spent relaxing and enjoying the views and wildlife. Even Nana went in a canoe! Brilliantly well equipped and ideal for all ages - will miss the views very much.”

A small, enclosed patio protects the front door that opens into a porch, housing a freezer, tumble dryer and provided with coat hooks and space for boots. Stable door into a well equipped and fitted kitchen diner with beech units, washing machine, dishwasher, electric cooker, larder fridge and microwave. Pine table to seat 6. From here a corridor leads to the sitting room with double doors that open to the terrace and superb estuary views. Two comfortable sofas, chairs, a rug on the wood floor, a TV with DVD are provided. Off the sitting room is the master bedroom with 5ft bed, fitted cupboards and a large picture window overlooking the estuary. Two twin bedrooms, both with 3ft beds and fitted cupboards. Step down to bathroom with bath, electric shower over, basin and WC. Further separate WC with washbasin.

Steps down to the terrace on the estuary side of the cottage which is provided with table and chairs and steps from here lead down to the private foreshore (shared with the two neighbouring properties). Two kayaks and a rubber dinghy for use at own risk. Please bring own life jackets. A grassy bridleway at the side of the cottage gives access to the foreshore.

Please Note: The kayaks and the rubber dinghy are provided on the strict understanding that they are used at the guest's own risk and that lifejakets, which are not provided must be worn at all times.

Great location. Canoes and dingy a great addition

June 2017

The bungalow was in a lovely spot, but was spoilt by the uncomfortable bed. When we go on holiday we look for a lovely area, comfortable furniture, so if the weather is bad we are comfortable. I will have to look a lot closer at the descriptions in future, very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback, the owners have now installed a new mattress in response to your comment. We do hope to see you again soon.

We had a fantastic time. The use of the canoes was a real bonus. The weather was great so we spent a lot of time on the deck. We would love to come again if possible. JZ

We much enjoyed the stay as usual... hope the very large lorries that are constantly passing on the road don't cause too much damage to the road which is already showing significant wear and tear .

Thank you for your feedback, the lorries were unusual for this very small road as you will be aware from previous stays as there is a 7.5T limit on this road, due to building works half a mile away they needed access at the time. These small lanes are not designed for heavy traffic and the council will be tasked with repairs should it become to bad.

Little Haven is an idyllic holiday home. Very peaceful with beautiful views. So lovely to be right on the water and be able to watch the prolific bird life. Our teenage girls enjoyed using the canoes & rubber dinghy. Great place to stay.
