Our TOP 10 South West Beaches

7) Yarmer Beach, South Devon:
Facilities: None
Dogs: Allowed, no restrictions
Lifeguard Cover: None

This stretch of sand is one of South Devon’s hidden gems. It’s the second beach in our list which sits close to the village of Thurlestone, this time on the coast path towards Bantham and Bigbury on Sea. Access isn’t great, which means that it is rarely crowded here even in the height of summer. Yarmer does not have any facilities, and can be reached from the South West Coast Path and also from the village of Thurlestone on a footpath running across the golf course (watch out for flying balls!) So if you fancy your own little slice of golden sand, this is a good place to head. There are no dog restrictions on Yarmer beach so your canine companion can enjoy the sea and sand just as much as you do.

Lockslea House at the forefront offers a prime coastal location

For a relaxing break why not stay in Lockslea House at Thurlestone or for a larger gathering stay at Apple Trees

Whether you’re looking for a family friendly beach, somewhere for your dog to run free or if you’re after an isolated spot to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, the South West has beaches catering for everyone’s needs. Watch this blog for the rest of our Top 10 Best Beaches.
