Our TOP 10 South West Beaches

6) Perranporth, North Cornwall:
Facilities: Car park, toilets, bar, cafés, restaurants, shops nearby, disabled access
Dogs: Allowed all year round but restrictions during July and August
(must be on a lead from 10am – 5pm)
Lifeguard Cover: Yes, during high season

Perranporth is a Cornish favourite with all types of holiday makers and locals, from families and surfers to couples and dog walkers. With 3 miles of soft sand stretching out at low tide, there’s plenty of room for everyone. There are toilets and a car park close to the entrance of the beach, and the rest of the town is in easy reach. This area can get busy in the summer so we recommend that you wander a little further and plan your day to take advantage of the vast space available at low tide. However, please be aware that once the tide turns the water comes in very quickly, so make sure you don’t get cut off!

For those of you wanting a bit of beach party atmosphere, Perranporth is home to the UK’s only bar on the beach which serves drinks and food all day. There are lifeguarded areas during the spring and summer holidays and dogs are welcome on the whole beach all year round. For more nervous swimmers there’s also a sea pool which means there’s no need to contend with those big north coast waves.
