Situated in the pretty hamlet of Polmorla, close to Wadebridge, North Cornwall, is this really delightful, detached and totally refurbished part eighteenth century stone Cornish cottage. The period character has been carefully retained and it features lots of beams and tasteful attractive soft furnishings. Set in a secluded wooded valley with peaceful views and surrounded by large enclosed landscaped gardens (designed by a Chelsea Flower Show Gold medallist), Hay Cottage not only provides exceptionally high quality and comfortable accommodation, but is ideally placed to explore the North Cornwall Coast with its magnificent sandy beaches and excellent surfing opportunities. Within 15 minutes of the cottage is the beautiful Camel estuary, fringed with unspoilt sandy beaches that open out to the superb horseshoe bay at Polzeath where the Atlantic rollers provide great surfing, or take the ferry from Rock to Padstow and indulge in cream teas and sample fine fare at renowned seafood restaurants. There are also bracing cliff top walks from Pentire Point to Port Isaac and the Camel Trail for cyclists is less than a mile from Hay Cottage, which links Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. You will even be greeted by a delicous cream tea on arrival.

Our fourth visit to Hay Cottage. We had such a lovely week. Thank you for your beautiful cottage, we love it! Hope to be back again soon.
Idyllic setting and a comfortable cottage. Ideal for exploring North Cornwall. The dogs loved the garden.
Another lovely stay at Hay Cottage. Weather was great, we were very lucky. Til the next time!
Really enjoyed our stay. Being picky, I think the walk in to Wadebridge is slightly more than 10 minutes and wouldn’t want to be walking back in the dark as no street lights or footpath.
We'll probably book the same cottage for next year
Lovely comfortable cottage, excellently equipped. Large gardens. Good location for exploring many of Cornwall's best beaches and attractions.
Yet another lovely holiday in Harbour cottage thank you
We definitely had a lovely week and despite the jobs that need doing, the cottage is in a lovely place and the neighbours were very friendly and helpful when we broke down.
Had a lovely break. Lovely property in lovely location. The cottage had everything a family would need and was a lovely temperature throughout.
We love this cottage. This is our third year coming. It works for us, whatever the weather. We like the peace and quiet, yet we are not too far from town and Wadebridge is a a lovely, thriving friendly little town. The AGA is a huge bonus and a simple Lidl chicken tastes fantastic roasted in the AGA - we did a turkey crown too and it was memorable, so flavoursome and moist. We used the fish kettle to cook a large whole grey mullet and a bass. There are loads of cookbooks old and new to inspire you to cook, loads of space to do it and the surfaces are easily cleaned down and the Miele dishwasher takes care of the pots and pans. A food processor would be a boon - saw a state of the art Magimix in a cupboard but didnt feel that I had permission to touch it! Spent one of our 7 days cooking, reading cook books and listening to music.. while the others went out... and loved it. After...oysters and prossecco on the patio in warm October sunshine. The beds are particularly comfortable with snow white laundry fresh bedding. A sensible range of spices, the odd tin of beans, condiments are often left in the cupboard to start you off. Pam leaves scones, jam and cream with milk tea and coffee so after the long journey there are immediate refreshments. There are jugs of fresh flowers and a welcome card. Another bonus for me, husband forever turning off central heating at home with 'get this heating off, its like an oven in here!' Me... and the dog liked to sit near the AGA and roast, no way for anyone to deprive us of the lovely warmth! We will come again, we really unwound and had our usual fab time with no arguments.
Our stay in the Hay Cottage Polmorla was a dream! We won't leave the House - we love it and we wanna come back!!! Definitely !!! Greetings from the Niedobas - Germany
Loved the cottage and would happily stay there again
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was beautiful and well equipped for our needs.

Excellent location and beautiful gardens.
Very lovely trad. Cornish cottage. Sympathically restored. Very well equipped by thoughtful owners, so very comfortable. Nice touches - flowers and cream tea. Milk in fridge and a dry store cupboard of essentials. Cleaning products and toilet tissue there for us. Aga was a bonus. TV, wi fi, radio and lots of books. Gas log fire and central heating. Every home comfort. Nice neighbours. We were 4 adults and 2 small dogs. Perfect for well behaved dogs who loved the enclosed garden and spent hours out in it. Only cons. Not suitable for disabled people, a def no no for wheelchair users. Dog leg stair cases and steps throughout the property might make the place unsuitable for elderly infirm persons with mobility issues and unsafe for toddlers. The Aga is hot to touch and as Agas go is on all the time. There is no guard around it. The garden is very pretty, terraced with level but slate pavings and steps with no rail. There is a steep drop from the patio to the lower garden, higher than building regs allow. Small children should be watched around this area and adults need to be aware..particularly after inbibing wine around the table at night! It is pitch black here at night and very little to no external light. I Recommend this property for people who want to be deep in the country but close to a town. Wadebridge is 5 minutes away and walking distance. At night take a torch. Suitable for adults, familiies with non mobile infants, families with children over 5 ( unless you have eyes in the back of your head and will watch toddlers all the time!) and well behaved dogs.
garden beutiful , however our dog is blind so found the drop on the patio quite alarming would have thought it unsafe for very young children , But beautyful never the less .
This is the first time we have used Toad Hall Cottages and we would certainly use the company again Hay Cottage where we stayed is in a beautiful location. We particularly liked the garden. The kitchen was a great family space. The cottage was very well equipped and I really enjoyed cooking with the AGA
A property of this quality should provide towels,as an extra suitcase proved necessary to bring towels for five guests. In every other respect Hay Cottage provided a family friendly base with lovely spacious & interesting garden, especially for young children.

Please note that towels will be provided for 2015 bookings. (No beach towels provided so we ask you to bring your own).
