The restaurant books up very quickly but we had an excellent take away which we ate on the picnic tables outside . Very generous portions so try a child’’a meal if you don’t have a huge appetite . Really great selection of seafood and some other options too.

Went to Britannia@the beach a few times while we were in Beesands ,the food is really nice ,but would advise to book before you go on holiday because it’s only a few tables and gets busy.

We ate here on numerous occasions— plenty of choice of food - best Fish + Chips we have had for ages! Very friendly staff+ nothing too much trouble. Ice cream was lovely too- Turkish Delight flavour was amazing ! Lots of choice for hot + cold drinks too.You can eat in or have a take out- it’s shut on a Monday tho.

Nice, only used as a takeaway - but the portions of chips were ridiculously large - one portion would feed three people, and if you don't know then it's a waste of food! Quite expensive too.

Couldnt get into the restaurant as it seems you need to book months in advance. Take away excellent just very expensive. Kids meals double what you'd pay elsewhere.

Amazing food. Very sad we weren't able to book a table here during our holiday, but that's how it is currently. We enjoyed a delicious takeaway lunch and several coffees. Lovely staff too. We will be back!

This is our favorite holiday restaurant. Simple food, simply cooked and delicious. We love the fresh fish variety. Speedy, quality food delivered to eat on the beach even when they're super busy. Great they have a license now too. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in the world!!! Need I say more! I absolutely love Britannia- superb fish dishes and the friendliest team ever with great customer service. They serve Yarde Farm ice cream- lots of flavours but the cherry & custard is amazing! You must go!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

Probably the best place for Fish in the South Hams...and that's saying something. We're regular visitors and it's great food in or out. Good atmosphere; everything is right about this place. Book ahead or just turn up for take-away fish and chips.

We had a take away - it was a really busy evening - but we were really disappointed with the quality of the food - sorry. Chips not very appetising. Scampi dry and looked old. Fish lots of batter.. The scallops however were excellent!

This is a fantastic place to eat . We had been here previously when it was literally a shack - prone to strong winds and gales! However it is now ensconced in much more solid and permanent surroundings. The food is excellent - a wonderful choice of seafood dishes - all freshly prepared . The staff are lovely and the service is great. Incredibly good value- plus you can take your own wine for a small corkage charge . thoroughly recommended for everyone who loves fish and seafood.

It’s a new look on the outside but the food very much of the same high quality at the Britannia in Beesands.
The new ‘shack’ doesn’t really do it justice with a completely renovated contemporary dining room in keeping with the seaside location and beach hut vibe with excellent views of the bay. There seems to be loads more space too and the higher ceiling gives light to the treats being served from the kitchen.
Dave and the team in the kitchen maintain their high standards of food preparation and making dishes that look and taste fantastic, the front of house team are equally as attentive making a great relaxed dining experience.
I would have no hesitation in recommending breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Britannia so come back if you have been before and see the changes or give it a go if you never have been. ????????

Unfortunately this was still being worked on even though it says reopening Spring 2019 so had to go into either Kingsbridge or Dartmouth for provisions.

Was gutted that is places had closed down the day before we got there was looking forward to trying this places. We did have a bit of luck we had just got there after a 5 hour drive not knowing it was closed and they were putting food in car oh the smell it was so good that's when they told us about colseing down. But they did lets us try some of the food they had cooked to feed 200 kids and omg it was lush . Just wish I could try more of it . Good luck with the new building

Delicious fish & chips & Crevettes in garlic butter with salad from the takeaway eaten on the beach on a lovely summers evening. Amazing selection of fish & shellfish from Scallops to John Dory. Eat in & bring your own bottle policy. They are planning a refurb end of season so check their Facebook page before you go to check on progress.

What a beautiful place to eat in a perfect location total able to eat alfresco or dine in. Both breakfast and dinner was perfectly cooked and presented the staff so friendly. Able to have all menu choices as takeaway and site and eat overlooking the English channel, perfect day.

A fantastic place to eat really good fresh fish simply prepared and the added bonus is you can take your own wine ( or beer) as they are not licensed. It is quite small so you probably need to book especially in the summer months . Excellent value !

We always book a meal here when we stay in Beesands. We did have a good meal here but perhaps not as good as previous years and the drainy smell by our table was a bit off-putting. Friendly staff!

Visited a few times during our week in Beesands and also had takeaway. Great food and lovely staff who really know how to look after their customers. Even went out to rescue lost customers after a local road was closed. Will definitely visit again. Make sure you book though, they will squeeze you in if they can but they are always busy.

The best food by a mile in this area of South Devon. We had a lovely evening sat on a bench opposite - we brought our own wine as there's no licence (but this saves on costs!). We had the freshly caught and cooked lobster, 'crack-your-own' crab, and a beautiful bowl of mussels. The lady owner or manager couldn't have been more helpful - we turned up on a Friday night with no reservation, and she went out of her way to accommodate us. If you only go to one place to eat whilst on holiday in the area, then it has to be here. Yes, rustic. Yes, simple. But simple fresh food, cooked amazingly well....and what a view!!! Go with friends and make an evening of it! Cannot recommend highly enough!!
