Set in the heart of the Hampshire New Forest is the delightful village of Minstead. The village has its own general stores, and also a charming country pub, called the Trusty Servant; a mile north and you’ll find the Rufus Stone at Lower Canterton, the site where King William II was fatally struck by an arrow while out hunting in 1100. The graveyard at the 13th century All Saints’ church is the final resting place for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Just outside of the village are the landscaped Furzey Gardens, renowned for its rare plants and stunning woodland walks.
The delightful, 3 bedroomed, detached farm cottage, Acres Down Farm (sleeps 6), situated on a working farm, offers a great base for exploring the surrounding fields, countryside, and forest beyond on foot.
