On the northern outskirts of the parish is Blackdown Rings, the remains of a&nbsp; ring-and-bailey hill fort dating back to the twelfth century and with views that stretch for miles. On a quiet lane, opposite the village green, is <a href="/holiday-cottages/lydiard-cottage/1546">Lydiard Cottage</a>, a cosy and characterful holiday home with some lovely features, such as its open log burner and exposed timber beams. <a href="/holiday-cottages/higher-rose-cottage/1169">Higher Rose Cottage</a> is a charming south facing dwelling close to Loddiswell&rsquo;s friendly village pub and general stores.
